This bass. THIS BASS. In a word, one of the most well constructed instruments I have ever laid a hand on. There is a fit and finish level to @mikelullcustomguitars basses that really sets them apart. I could write a profanity-laced dissertation on the feel of this neck alone. I’m becoming an increasing fan of the @fralinpickupsofficial pickups as well. There’s a nice richness to them, and a top and presence that doesn’t become too harsh or brittle even with the tone all the way open (which it isn’t here). Quick Punch: gear demos in :60 or less. Or your :60 back! Or less! I have been digging on (and into) the @collaborationdevices The Compressor for a while now. The direct ease of operation, the VU meter, and the separate drive controls all combine for a winner of a bass comp. Plus it sounds GOOD. This here’s a VCA comp based on the SSL, which is known for clean and quiet operation. But great comps add a little sauce too, and you can go from a pinch of dirt to a gravy boat of full throated roar with the separate drive control which has its own foot switch.
