A message from R. Jai Gillum:
I’m writing to you today as a wife, a mother, and a partner in the fight for justice. You may know my husband, Andrew Gillum, as a dedicated public servant and tireless advocate for those without a voice. But I want to share a side of Andrew that you might not know – the loving husband and devoted father to our three beautiful children.
Over the past week, as I sat in court every day with Andrew, we were able to confirm what we thought to be true—for YEARS, unlimited resources have been used to go through our personal records and finances. And all of this after repeated unsuccessful bribery attempts. Andrew and I have both worked since we were 16 years old, and to have someone assume that anything we do with our personal finances, including taking our children to Disney World, must be obtained by ill-gotten means…I just don’t have the words to explain to you how that feels.
Our family is facing an unimaginable challenge. We are fighting against a broken system that seeks to destroy our lives in the name of politics and corruption, and we need your support.
Please consider donating to the Bring Justice Home Legal Defense Fund to make a significant difference in our battle to clear Andrew’s name and protect our family. (LINK IN BIO)
Today, we are celebrating a victory for justice. Andrew Gillum was found not guilty in court earlier today.
The outcome is a testament to the unwavering support and commitment of people like you, who have stood with us in our fight for truth and fairness.
Today, justice was partly served, when too often it is not. Although Mayor Gillum is innocent, the jury remained deadlocked on several other charges brought against him. This could leave the door open for more corrupt proceedings to take place in the future.
This sham process has proven to us what we have known for years. Unlimited resources and corrupt law enforcement influences unjustly targeted Mayor Gillum’s family for too long with attempt after attempt to destroy his reputation. Despite false allegations and corrupt investigations, Mayor Gillum never acted nefariously as an elected official, candidate for governor, or at all—despite millions of dollars in law enforcement resources attempting to entrap him.
While we cautiously celebrate this victory, we recognize that our work is far from over. The racial bias in the criminal justice system continues to threaten the lives and wellbeing of countless individuals. With your help, we can continue to fight back, and ensure that any other attacks on Mayor Gillum and his family can be met with the support and justice they deserve.
We are immensely grateful for your support throughout this difficult journey. Your belief in justice and your steadfast commitment have made this victory possible.

It’s been awhile since you’ve heard from me on IG, and I wish I was posting under better circumstances.
I am facing one of my greatest challenges yet in a court case that begins tomorrow in Tallahassee. First, let me state unequivocally, that I am innocent of the allegations being made against me. I have never taken advantage of my office or position to cheat, con, or deceive anyone. To the contrary, I have always fought on behalf of those who sit on the margins of our society, no matter what the cost. While this case has targeted my character, service, and actions, I want you to remember that I am the same Andrew that you’ve always known—a man of character and integrity with a heart for service.
No matter when you met me, I hope that you realized my passion for public service is born out of an inherent desire to make my community and the lives of others better. My dedication to public service started in middle school student government and continued throughout my time as a student leader at FAMU. I was elected to a citywide local office when I was just 23 years old, I served as mayor of Tallahassee and became the first Black person elected the Democratic nominee for Governor of Florida – coming closer than any Democrat for that office in over twenty years. My motivation to serve has always been rooted in growing up poor, and I am driven to fight against all odds to make the future one of limitless possibilities for everyone.
Thank you for the prayers and words of support that you extend to me and my family. Please keep them coming. They sustain us more than you know. And for those who are able, please consider making a donation to my legal defense fund (link in bio). I am grateful to @attorneycrump @angelarye , @bakarisellers , and a host of other friends who helped establish the Bring Justice Home Legal Defense Fund. My family and I have made considerable financial sacrifices to defend my innocence, and your contributions will go toward the $1 million in additional funds needed to cover the trial and my legal representation.
I’m deeply grateful for your willingness to stand with me during this challenging time.

When Mayor Gillum was declared not guilty in open court last week, we wish that was the end to a long and trying story. But unfortunately, it wasn’t.
After being hunted for 7 years, and having his family attacked from all sides, the world finally knows what we have always known: Mayor Gillum is innocent.
Please consider making a donation to the Bring Justice Home Legal Defense Fund today (Link In Bio). Our work is not over, as we prepare for the possibility that this sham process will continue.
They have literally tried to take everything from Mayor Gillum and his family. But we won’t back down. And we hope you won’t either.

This video is a disgrace!!!
These people believed they had the right to vote following the passage of the Rights Restoration constitutional amendment in 2018. DeSantis has weaponized the government to go after otherwise well-meaning residents of Florida. Banana Republic or Democracy?!
Goddamn shame!!!! (📽️ @tampabaytimes )
Gov. DeSantis:
You can’t ready the ground, till the soil, plant the seed, add the water and fertilizer, then blame the rain shower when the tree begins to bare its predictable fruit.
I stopped short of calling you a racist during our 2018 debates, choosing instead to focus on the fact that what we “call” ourselves (racist or not) is less important than how we make people feel through what they see us do (or not do), say (or not), and (re)act.
In these last five years you’ve done little to dissuade the hate mongers and racist from your cause – too often giving shelter to their ideas in your own public policy fights, i.e. anti-George Floyd protest laws, elimination of Black access seats in congress, book banning and the fictionalizing of Black history in Florida, targeting of Black public servants by taking their power, shaming, retiring or forcibly removing them from public posts (illegal). Your actions have proven a blueprint for tyranny and hatred.
You have not hesitated to blame every other community in our state when you’ve needed a political fight to advance your extreme credentials.
Now that you can see more clearly that words and attitudes matter, what will you do going forward? With whatever credibility you have remaining on the topic; how will you make tomorrow safer for Black people in Florida and all communities targeted by hate driven domestic terror?
This is a time of choosing and we’re watching…

Brilliant move by these brave six students. We’ve always been expected to do more with less. No more. Show us the money we are owed!!!
“The complaint says there has been a deliberate effort by the state to undermine FAMU’s competitiveness by letting other public colleges duplicate its academic programs, luring away prospective students. Decades of disparate state funding have prevented FAMU from achieving parity with its traditionally White counterparts, according to the suit. It claims the University of Florida received a larger state appropriation per student than FAMU from 1987 to 2020, amounting to a shortfall of roughly $1.3 billion.”

This has the familiar feeling of being used up for your talents and then discarded for whatever reason or NO reason at all. Tiffany Cross is a brilliant journalist and television host. She consistently speaks truth to power regardless of who is on either end. She is consistently one of the hardest working people I know – trying always to say “yes” to whatever the request may be.
In truth, as a viewer I worried for her in this new era we are living. Rarely has the corporate power structure been confronted so directly by the truth. Tiffany made it her mission to bring that truth week in and week out.
My life experience and faith teaches me that this move is just the setup for the SET OUT for Tiffany, but I can’t help wondering when are we ever just gonna win straight out — no struggle, pain and self sacrifice — just the win…🤷🏾♂️
Until that day comes, we fight on 💪🏾🙏🏾!
While Mayor Andrew Gillum was acquitted on a major charge last week, some members of the federal jury on his case remained deadlocked, putting him and his family at risk of facing more lengthy and costly trials.
Recently, a majority of jurors from the case came forward publicly to express their frustrations with the trial, even saying that had it not been for two biased holdouts within the jury, Mayor Gillum would have been fully acquitted.
And in an UNPRECEDENTED act of solidarity, the jurors PUBLICLY CALLED on the government to stop any efforts to prosecute Mayor Gillum again in the future after prosecutors have singled they planned to try again.
After pouring millions of dollars into trying to destroy Mayor Gillum and his family’s reputation, jurors say the prosecutors’ case didn’t come close to connecting him to any wrongdoing. Multiple law enforcement officials even admitted that Mayor Gillum never took a bribe, even after multiple attempts at entrapping him.
Yet despite this, our work is not done. Mayor Gillum still risks being charged again with these false allegations.
Please consider making a contribution today to support our continued fight for justice.
Thank you for all your support.

The trial has begun, and I am reminded of the words of former heavyweight champion James J. Corbett:
“When your feet are so tired that you have to shuffle back to the center of the ring, fight one more round. When your arms are so tired that you can hardly lift your hands to come on guard, fight one more round. When your nose is bleeding and your eyes are black and you are so tired that you wish that your opponent would crack you one on the jaw and put you to sleep, fight one more round – remembering that the man who always fights one more round is never whipped.”
Please know that I am always ready to fight one more round. But I can’t win this fight alone. Grateful for the support of friends and family from all over the country.
Please consider supporting Bring Justice Home Legal Defense Fund.
