Chris Burkard Instagram – The forest undergoes transformation as the sun dips behind the mountains and stars replace the blue skies. Taking a moment to be quiet and allow the sounds of wildlife to resume and being disturbed by your presence really gives you a window into the vast amount of life in this particular ecosystem. Last fall, I was fortunate enough to spend an evening underneath these giants, documenting them in all conditions during an assignment for @natgeo … sometimes those type of nights camping in the truck eating freeze dried food are the best… keeping you a little more connected to the nature you’re out to document and open to immersing yourself in special place like this one.
Chris Burkard Instagram – Patagonia is one of those places on earth that feels somewhat untouched by time… easier to enter into communion with nature at the rugged foot of the Andes, distracted only by occasional rush of wind through the valley and the constant sound of water flowing downstream. Last fall during an assignment for @elevenexperience I had the unique pleasure of fly fishing in the Rio Palena not far from the Chile/Argentina border…a truly meditative experience that feels more like a dream than a memory.
