Damian Hardung Instagram – First day on shore in Antarctica- the goal of our long journey. I left on the 26th of December and it took us almost three weeks of travelling and quarantining. It was all worth it when we surveyed the first penguin colony. Seeing this pristine environment, the roughness, the penguins, the whales and birds. A few weeks ago I wouldn’t even have been able to tell you there are different species of penguins and now here we are distinguishing between Gentoo and Adelie Penguins. I have never been to such an isolated place before and yet it’s already feeling the impact of human activities.
