Dan Crenshaw Instagram – I know this isn’t a clip of me yelling at Hunter Biden, but on the Energy and Commerce committee we have to do the wonky work of protecting your energy security. So have a listen and give it a like.

There’s a misconception on the left that if one regulation is good, 10 must be great. It’s a fundamental disagreement on the left and the right — how far do we go with regulatory framework? How much do we try to “protect” before we’re actually causing harm?

There certain questions we need to ask before we propose rule after rule and the inevitable consequences follow. Eventually we get to a point of diminishing returns with our regulations. We can impose more, but ultimately that would do more harm than good. I believe right now we’re at that point.

Yesterday in an E&C hearing I questioned the EPA’s Assistant Administrator Goffman about a number of EPA regulations on methane emissions. (This is where it starts to get wonky — stick with me.)

The continuous regulatory onslaught from the EPA will have disastrous effects on our domestic energy industry, especially for small business.

These regulations — like the Biden administration’s new methane rule and its natural gas tax — will increase the cost at the pump and increase our dependence on foreign competitors. Competitors like Russia, Venezuela, and Iran don’t have to follow the administration’s regulations when they sell oil and gas on the global market. They can continue to sell freely while we kneecap ourselves in the process.

Also keep in mind that our domestic oil and gas producers already have some of the lowest emission intensity production in the world. Our emissions were already beginning to steadily decrease even before the EPA’s latest regulations.

The truth is simple: U.S energy producers are good for the economy, energy security, and the environment when they displace foreign competitors. Our goal should be to help domestic energy production, not hurt it.
Dan Crenshaw Instagram – What’s happening right now in Ecuador is straight out of a horror movie.

The President of Ecuador has declared a 60 day state of emergency, mobilizing military forces in order to contain the situation.

So where is this all coming from? Well, a number of reasons — but last weekend, the leader of Los Choneros “disappeared” from prison. He was known as “the most-wanted prisoner” and the gang he leads is responsible for assassinating an Ecuadorian presidential candidate last year. Since his disappearance madness has unfolded. No surprise that this group is directly tied to the Sinaloa Cartel.

This is why I lead the Cartel Task Force in Congress. This is why I’ve called on Mexico to let us help them defeat the cartels with the might of our military. The disease is spreading quickly, and it’s right here in the Americas.
