I love doing panto every year!It’s such a fabulous tradition and art form and a great distraction from the craziness of reality TV and the Internet commentary and discourse that comes as part of the package.
Here I am giving my best Twankey!She is a joy to play…fun fact Twankey gained her name from Twankey tea(a slightly inferior and cheaper cut of tealeaves)Hence why upon my entrance I am balancing a teapot on my head!just 8 more shows to go…well we’ll have to do it again then won’t we?!

Panto is such a glorious tradition that includes every generation and is a child’s first introduction to theatre!So it always makes me laugh when people are outraged by children being exposed to Drag or Drag story time when this has literally been a thing for 100’s of years.

We will be celebrating the Eurovision final with a spectacular night hosted by @liquorice_black and @annaphylactic1 from The Family Gorgeous in The Vault.
Expect a night of cheeky commentary, DJs, activities, surprise performances and an afterparty!(til 1am!)
There will be a eurovision fancy dress competion!(Come as your favourite past or present iconic act to be in with a chance of winning!!!)
There will be bubbles,pizza from @crazypedros.
And @liquorice_black has promised to make a cheese and pickled onion hedgehog…so who knows….i might even get my prawn ring out!

We love a triptych…and in the purpose of keeping my insta all neat and tidy and visually appealing i’m doing a #windbackwednesday to 2021/2022 when i did my first panto dame!
I love being a baddie but as the song goes ‘there is nothing like a dame’ and what a dame to start my daming with!
Twankey is such a fab character…hardworking/downtrodden/ aspiring for a better life out of the lauderette.
Shes a strict mother with a sharp temper but warm and loving and always on the look out for a future Mr Twankey!
Fun fact Widow Twankey was named after Twankey tea(an inferior,ragged leaf)implying that Twankey is past her best.
Pantomime has been a staple here in the uk for a loooooong time and its often a childs first experience of theatre being one of the few art forms that every generation of the family can enjoy!Theres things that grandparents,parents and children can all enjoy and take away.
Im very priviledged to be part of that!So the current debate surrounding drag queen story time , the distant crys of ‘wont anybody think of the children’and the new laws in America to ban Drag or make it illegal are infuriating!
Drag has been here forever and is an art form that can take many forms and cater to many different audiences!Adults and children alike.
