Cancer is a scary thing. In the past few years I have had several family and friends suddenly discover they had late stage cancer with no previous symptoms. I grew up in the US but my Mom would rarely ever buy me American candy. So I ate a lot of White Rabbit candy growing up. So when I came across this White Rabbit ice cream while I was filming in China I had to try it. My lactose intolerance did not like me for doing that but my nostalgic tastebuds enjoyed every minute of it.
I am all for diversity but a “you can be anything” Asian Barbie that is a violinist or a Panda doctor? That’s more like “You can be anything your Asian parents want you to be” Either someone non Asian at Barbie fucked this up with stereotyping or the person who created this is Asian and they are carrying on generational trauma.

Almost all of my career has been in movies. I avoided TV most of my career for various reasons. Here is one of them…the anxiety of whether you get another season or not. This happened to Into The Badlands, Westworld and now ABC. I was really looking forward to rejoining the gang to make something special again but alas this was not in our cards. Hopefully we’ll find a home for it somewhere else! Shout out to everyone who worked on this and special shout out to creator @geneluenyang for making something so culturally significant!

It’s been a long long time since I’ve gotten a hickey!
I think most people know I am a life long martial artist. I am pretty good with a sword and other various weapons and have been studying stand up striking for 30 years. However, I’ve always avoided any kind of ground fighting, not because I didn’t believe in it, but because I get grossed out by sweat and smells. I am even embarrassed by my own sweat. That said, I’ve always known that jiujitsu is extremely effective as a form of self defense which is why my daughter has been doing it for over two years. Watching her every class kept reminding me that I need to do it. So just before the year ended I decided check my ego and dive in. So here I am in 2024 a brand new white belt getting smashed everyday on the mat and loving it! I am comforted by pals like @willyunlee who is also making the same transition as me from stand up to the ground and @ronnychieng who has been at it for a while. Excited to see where this will take me!

Woah! My Buddy from high-school Andrew, just sent me this. I have no recollection of this but obviously I did not go to the Winter Ball my junior year (and was maybe a bit salty?) in highschool so I organized an Anime fest at my house. I do remember my Mom had a copy machine at home so I was always using it to make stuff. I think I made a couple zines and tons of stickers with it. I am going to admit this now publicly for the first time because I believe the statues of limitation have me in the clear but I also made counterfeit Hot Dog Day tickets so I could get free hot dogs at school.
I studied architecture in college so my brain is always programmed to notice certain architectural details. Saw this patterned concrete floor and thought it looked cool. A little mid century flavor. Oh and that leads to one of my pet peeves…I look at realestate listings as a hobby and I often scoff at listings when realestate agents misappropriate architectural vocabulary to make their listings sound fancy. Just because a house was built in the 50’s or 60’s doesn’t make it Mid-Century Modern. MCM is a style that not an era.
Daytona has been tough so far. Stepping up to this level of racing certainly has been challenging. We got off to a bad start yesterday with mechanical issues and rain cutting down most of our practice time. I only got two laps in the car and was way off pace. Today was better (despite sliding off the dewy track on cold tires)as I slowly got comfortable in the car and with the track but still a bit off pace. Which lead to a not so great qualifying time that put us to the very back of the grid. Tomorrow we have one more short practice before the race so I will just have to continue learning as I go! Hopefully I make the necessary improvements in race. We’re racing at Daytona International Speedway this weekend for the start of the IMSA 2024 season! Daniel Wu and Tazio Ottis will pilot the No. 73 GoldenTV Honda Civic TCR for five rounds of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge series, including Daytona, Mid-Ohio, Road America, Indy and Road Atlanta.
Our neon rocket will roll off the trailer Wednesday morning and hit the track at 3pm local time for her first session here at Daytona. Stay tuned for all of the practice and race information as we get this season started!
