This morning when I woke up, I was focused on things I wanted to finish this week… This year… Sometimes your mind is focused on making it instead of stopping and helping, reflecting, being GRATEFUL for what you do have. What I love about my wife Sophia is that she woke up with the mindset that we need to stop what we’re doing and go down there. Being able to participate in this event, while remembering the Twix Bars and Tang I would find in the groceries my mom received when I was a kid meant a lot to me.
It was a beautiful experience to see the thought and care from everyone who gathered to serve their community. So many people working together in tandem to help others.
One of Sophia’s greatest desires is that our son be aware of others in need. Using this time to take him with to serve was one of the most beautiful experiences we’ve had with him. He was right there next to us, hand selecting produce. Bagging. Helping arrange tables. Carrying Boxes. He was so excited to help..
