Prioritise your own happiness this year 🏳️⚧️✨
It’s never too late to explore your gender identity and expression with the ultimate goal of feeling more comfortable. This can include clothes, accessories, makeup, a name change, new pronouns, hormones, gender affirming procedures (like hair removal or micro-blading bushy brows) or surgeries. Go at the pace which suits you.
After many years of feeling lost, I came out as trans in my late 20s. I felt like that was so late, and I feared having completely missed out on happiness and belonging. I was wrong!

In 2023, I had some personal achievements to counteract the difficulties. In no particular order:
1. Image winner for Student Pride / put on all tote bags etc
2. T-shirt and pin badge designs for LGBT Switchboard
Durex campaign – designed celebration boxes with stickers, pin badges, hats etc
3. Did a workshop and a postcard design for Trans Rebels
4. Spoke at WOW Festival at the Royal Festival Hall
5. Stickers, pins and t-shirts stocked at Queer Britain (also did an art market there)
6. Consulted on Sex Education series 4
7. Made a comic and a batch of trans parents and carers films for Positive Identities series at Barnardos
8. Pride illustrations for HP Printables
9. Mentorship at Hachette
10. Graffiti to promote Elliot Page’s book
11. Celebrated 7 years with my partner Owl
12. Created 10 years of Trans Pride Brighton documentary, and put on 10th Anniversary Film Event
13. Sold art via Saatchi online / Art Republic
14. Had 3 more art pieces procured for Soho House
15. Many events and screenings at soho houses / W London
16. Pride in London film campaign (more about this in the future)
17. Incredible starseed retreat at Glastonbury with Steve Nobel and Liz Findlay
18. Interviewed Schyler Bailer at the Common Press
19. Got a garden pod
20. I created a design with Eric for Fort London’s 2024 calendar

I also had to leave Trans Pride Brighton as a trustee, with a heavy heart.
I was nominated for Outstanding Contribution to Everyday Life but did not accept a short-listed award by the LGBT Awards
I had a hair transplant so couldn’t be there to accept a Diversity and Inclusion award.

In 2024, I want to focus on my own art projects (Screen printing onto wood, paper and fabric), finish my comic book, finish Life of Kai doc (10 years filming) and keep going with Inverness Or Bust doc/fiction.
