Jon M. Chu Instagram – Everyday we shoot #Wicked I am astounded by the incredible craftsmanship of thousands of people to make the world of Oz come to life. It is absolutely mind blowing. I am inspired everyday on set (the colors, the textures, the attention to detail in every department) , and when our actors take over, they breathe life into it and honestly, many days it has felt spiritual.…Nuanced and complicated and radiant. And I know when I get into the edit, it will, again, evolve into something that none of us could have imagined by ourselves. It’s the magic of movies… not watching movies but MAKING movies. I’m sure all you creators out there understand the feeling. So I have so much gratitude for being able to make a movie of this scale surrounded by people I greatly respect and now love. What a blessed job to witness dreams come to life every day. Not in the way we think but in ways only possible when working with other artists. Reminds me of this #SteveJobs interview….“It’s that process… that is the magic”
