Phoenix has been touring since he was 8 weeks old in an RV. At a very young age he stated he felt God’s love when he played his drums- a very profound thing for a toddler to say. It’s amazing to watch children grow and unfold into who they are. Yesterday he turned 9 years old. Now he’s the real life drummer boy on this Christmas tour with me- side by side. Giving our gifts back to the one who gave them to us. 🥁👦🏼

Christmas morning, our family woke up to the usual tree with presents and much excitement. The kids were beaming ear to ear, and like always were very, very excited to open gifts. It was then that something different happened. Just before we were about to tell the kids to open their presents, Leo, our 6 year old tugged on my shirt and said “Dad, would you open the present I got you first?” I was quite struck by his question, a child more excited for us to open his gift then he was about opening ours.. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I find these kids teaching me the Good News. They teach me the Gospel in action. In this case, living out Jesus’s word- “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” For Courtney and me, Leo taught us both something that I want to take into this new year. To just give. Give of my time. My love. My money. My gifts. Not only that, but to find deep joy in it… like that of the joy our son had when giving me his present Christmas morning. May 2024 be the most joyful year of our lives as we learn and relearn to give. Happy New Year! -L
[1 of 2] • We just returned home from Australia for a week to celebrate Courtney and I’s 13th wedding anniversary. It was a memory filled trip (who knew you could go off roading on the beach? 🚙 🏖️ 🤙🏼) that neither of us will ever forget. Marriage and this beautiful friendship is a real gift that I never want to take for granted. Now it’s time for summer shows 👀☀️🌊 -L
People forget that behind the cameras are dear friends who we get the privilege of touring with. One of the things I love is finding them in the audience and making a friendly face. (Well, maybe my weird face might not be considered friendly in this clip 🤪 but that’s what I was going for!)

Sometimes you need a laugh. Tag Steph Curry (@stephencurry30) for me and tell him I’m very sorry 👇🏽😂🏀
I’ve always struggled with what to do with applause. That is until one day I realized that that’s because we’re not designed to hold and keep it. It should be reserved for someone that is not from this world-Who deserves all the glory. So when applause or success of any kind is aimed at you, toss it heavenward to where it came from , and it’s only rightful place.
We were just kids back then with hearts full of dreams. We have lived some of those outlandish hopes since and others are still in the making ,but I can say with a full heart, it’s been a marvelous 13 years since we first said ‘I do’. Here’s to 13 years with my sweetest friend.

The girl on the right gave me the girl on the left. Actually, she’s given me so much more. 4 kids in fact but once again, she’s given me so much more. Often times she’s given me hope for a better day, laughter when my soul needed to smile and the comfort that she’d be by my side no matter what may come our way. In proverbs it says, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing.” When we started dating 14 years ago, I found a wonderful thing. I love you always sweetie.
I’m on my flight to Canada now and reflecting on the special memories made on the Spring Tour with my people. Leaving is always the hardest part, but thankful leaving doesn’t feel easy . 📷 : @tmchico 🛹
Today , while listening to a sermon of Tim’s -I got the news that Tim Keller has crossed over into eternity . It’s difficult to articulate what this man has meant to my life. I never met him, never heard him preach in person (though I’ve listened to hundreds of his sermons) ,yet I always felt close to him. Close, because he spoke and taught about the things I wrestle with and lived a life of such authenticity and humility . It’s one thing to speak well , but boy did he live well, and finish well. Tim, thanks for a race well run. Tim, I’ll see you soon.
It’s an honor to be called Dad by these four. Here are some throwbacks to bringing up my little ones on stage with me over the years . To all the father’s out there : your legacy matters.

I read this yesterday and it’s still got me thinking 🧹
