GIMMICKY GESTURE POLITICS by IGNORANT COWARDS:
As everyone in the counter-terrorism field knows, this UK government initiative is inaccurate, counter-productive & politically driven.
Hizb ut-Tahrir (HT) is a revolutionary Islamist, NOT jihadist-terrorist organisation. Mixing classifications in this way only serves to undermine legitimate work.
HT called for the armies of Muslim-majority governments to fight a “jihad” (physical struggle). They didn’t call for terrorist acts.
If it’s terrorism to call for the armies of Muslim-majority governments to defend Gaza and fight Israel, then it is terrorism for our own armed forces to bomb Yemen for Israel.
The red line must be at calling for *direct action violence*, NOT campaigning for states to take action (which can also be right & wrong). Banning the latter as terrorism is absolutely absurd.
The UK government is COMPLETELY LOSING its way on counter-terror policy, to placate Netanyahu-wing Zionists. It’s a total FARCE.
