In his new project, “The Promised Land”, @theofficialmads plays an 18th-century war veteran sent out on a royal mission. «I play… a man who hates nobility and at the same time wants to be a part of it,» says the actor. But in his real life, Mikkelsen is undoubtedly a Hollywood star, yet he prefers a slower pace of life. Rather than relocating to the center of the action in LA or New York, he’s lived in Denmark his whole life. Today, he splits his time between Hellerup, a former fishing village north of Copenhagen, and Mallorca, and admits that he prefers outdoor activities to watching movies in his free time.

“Every Bond villain has three nipples or something. For Casino Royale I had to wear a milk-coloured, glazed-over contact lens. We tried a billion ways to make it bleed but they went with CGI in the end. I’ve now done six films where there’s been something wrong with my eye. It’s the easiest way to make someone a bad guy. So my festival would have an optometrist on call.”

🏆 Another Round, ART HOUSE CINEMA PRIZE 2020!
The 2020 Art House Cinema Prize was awarded this year by a vote of all the members present at the National Art House Meetings which were held from August 25 to 27 in La Rochelle.
The Prize was awarded to Another Round by Thomas Vinterberg , distributed by Haut et Court , in theaters on October 14, 2020 , one of the 12 films presented during this event, from the Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival, from those of the ‘ACID and Critics’ Week.
