In his new project, “The Promised Land”, @theofficialmads plays an 18th-century war veteran sent out on a royal mission. «I play… a man who hates nobility and at the same time wants to be a part of it,» says the actor. But in his real life, Mikkelsen is undoubtedly a Hollywood star, yet he prefers a slower pace of life. Rather than relocating to the center of the action in LA or New York, he’s lived in Denmark his whole life. Today, he splits his time between Hellerup, a former fishing village north of Copenhagen, and Mallorca, and admits that he prefers outdoor activities to watching movies in his free time.
