Malik Yoba Instagram – This Christmas Holiday , the celebration of the birth of Christ, for some is the reason for the season as it well should be as we give thanks. However we are not a monolith and for many of us, this holiday, season is filled with loneliness, joy, pain, family dynamics across the spectrum, , suffering, healing , separation, division, war, strife and devastation. , While many of us get to rejoice there are many of us that don’t get to see yesterday’s tomorrow today or won’t make it to the new year. Some of us hold each moment as precious and not to be taken for granted while others hold grudges and hold up progress. I don’t say this to dampen anyone’s spirit but instead, it’s to lift up spirits to encourage us to always remember to see each other as we see ourselves, and remember that one Golden Rule… “Do unto others….” For certain there is a tide that is rising across the globe of separatism and otherness, and and seeing our fellow citizens as less than human, but the fact is, this has always been a part of human history. Light vs Dark . Good vs Evil. It is precisely at these times that those of us of good conscience regardless of religion have FAITH in humanity’s ability to self correct and put our thumb on the scale of love, FREEDOM and opportunity for all of God’s children. So we must dig deeper into our spiritual well, and even deeper into that reserve and pull up all that is good and righteous and kind and loving so that we may put this energy forward with the understanding that love and compassion is the light that we allow us to shine brighter than ever before and no bow down. We may not have all the answers in this moment, but the one thing we do know is that those of us that have the ability to be reflective must double and triple down on that attribute is in these moments .
