‘I’d had a call from Skrillex, who’s a very talented musician, and I thought it would be interesting to see what he had in mind, so he came to my home studio and we sat down and talked and tried to evolve bits and pieces and it was mainly for this song, This Is Home’ – PG
‘it’s a giant globe that collects and assembles data, something that is building, that has the sum total of human experience for anyone who cares to upload it… it’s a big dream’. What memory would you upload to the Panopticom?

On today’s harvest full moon, Peter releases the tenth track from the album i/o. This month the song is This Is Home and the first version to be heard is the Dark- Side Mix, by Tchad Blake. This beautiful artwork titled ‘Conexión de catedral II’ is by @davidmoreno_art
As we reach the first full moon of 2024, let’s take a journey back to the full moons of 2023. Special thanks to @nasa for providing the beautiful images.
‘I think it’s got a groove but unlike most pop songs that have a middle eight or bridge this has two and they are both quite different. The first one is atmospheric and dreamy.’ – PG
‘It began with inspiration from some of the great Tamla Motown rhythm sections so we’re trying to recreate that in a modern way, complete with the tambourine and handclaps. The groove I like a lot, Tony Levin does a great bass part there.’ – PG
‘A lot of life is a struggle between order and chaos and in some senses, the justice or legal system is something that we impose to try and bring some element of order to the chaos. That’s often abused, it’s often unfair and discriminatory but at the same time it’s probably an essential part of a civilised society. But we do need to think sometimes about how that is actually realised and employed.’- PG
12th anniversary of New Blood… “We were trying to explore things to see if we could do it differently. There are places on this record where you hear something that you won’t have heard before. And that’s always exciting to me. So we chose songs that were more textural, more evocative, ambient pieces.” – PG
Many thanks to @mattolearymusic , ClassicAlbumReview, @afantano , @mazzys_music , @rhymesignatures for the fantastic reviews of i/o. You can find them on @youtube
Throughout last year, Peter’s @bandcamp subscription delved deeper into the music of i/o with exclusive demo and live versions of the songs and additional video content. The subscription continues and we’re delving into the archives too now. A pre PG1 demo just dropped. Head over to Bandcamp to see what you might have missed…
