Robert Gant Instagram – I was shooting some episodes just as the Writers’ Strike started, so I didn’t share about it then. (More on that later but had a wonderful time as always.) Meanwhile, as we actors are reviewing and discussing ratification of the latest contract proposal, I wanted to share some gratitude for this craft. I joined the Screen Actors Guild in 1984 when I did my second national commercial as a kid. The first commercial was in 5th grade. (I’ll elaborate on that another day as well, but I remember my great-grandmother, a former Broadway actress and early member of Actors Equity, being thrilled that I’d joined the thespian ranks!) I’ve been a proud SAG (now SAG-AFTRA) member ever since. And, to this day, I get a little giddy when stepping into my dressing room/trailer before heading to hair and make up and ultimately the set. Getting to do something I love is a gift I don’t take for granted. What makes you happy? How can you express something you love or enjoy in your life, no matter the size of the expression or whether you’re paid for it or not? It can be a hobby. It can be (almost) anything. But, whatever it is, what action can you take toward it today? Pursuing things we love or enjoy is a key part of living our best, most fully expressed lives.
