Takashi Murakami Instagram – We finally finished the design for the last large-scale painting for the exhibition @takashimurakami_mononoke_kyoto at @kyotocitykyoceramuseum. This one really was an uphill battle. We now only have 3 to 4 days for the physical painting process. I wonder how close we can bring it to the desired level. By the way, three days with our backs agains the wall should be equivalent to about a month and a half in terms of energy. I desperately hope to get it to the zone where a message that can reach the audience erupts from the work I think we did a pretty good job with the design. Thank you, design team. Dear everyone in the painting team: We have little time left! I am counting on you. 京セラ美術館 @kyotocitykyoceramuseum @takashimurakami_mononoke_kyoto での展示の最後の大物の下図がやっと完成しました。 コレは本当に苦戦しました。 此処から着色作画の時間、わずか3〜4日。 何処レベルまでにじり寄れるか。 ちなみに、追い込んだ形での3日は、1ヶ月半くらいのエネルギーに匹敵するハズ。 どうか、観客に届けれるメッセージが噴出するゾーンにまでにはさせたいです。 下図はかなり良い線行ったと思います。 下図のチーム、ありがとうございました。 ペインティングのスタッフの皆さん。 残された時間！どうかヨロシクお願い致します。 京都市京セラ美術館（京都市美術館）
Takashi Murakami Instagram – The art collection of Ms. Mira Mikati @miramikati at her house was presented on leagueoto’s @leagueoto page. She has been extremely supportive of Mr. @misteryanen and myself over the years. With our art, we have almost single-mindedly been working on translating the visual and ideological influences of the otaku culture that started in the late 70s in Japan into Western contemporary art through the concept of Superflat. By collecting them and displaying them stylishly and beautifully, collectors like Mikati-san create their own world of beauty in a completely different dimension. In the world of art, artists create their works without clear understanding as to why, and there are galleries that choose to present their works. And then there are collectors like Mikati-san, who digest those works in their own way and give them a more valuable presentation. A curator or critic who encounters those works at the collector’s house may introduce them to a museum, and at the museum the true value of the works are tested, and the evaluation will spread to the general public. I believe that it is only thanks to people like Mikati-san, who first see value in our works, that we, the artists, come to have meaning in this world. Mikati-san, I have not seen you for quite some time, since the pandemic. I look forward to seeing you again.
