Takashi Murakami Instagram – The art collection of Ms. Mira Mikati @miramikati at her house was presented on leagueoto’s @leagueoto page. She has been extremely supportive of Mr. @misteryanen and myself over the years. With our art, we have almost single-mindedly been working on translating the visual and ideological influences of the otaku culture that started in the late 70s in Japan into Western contemporary art through the concept of Superflat. By collecting them and displaying them stylishly and beautifully, collectors like Mikati-san create their own world of beauty in a completely different dimension. In the world of art, artists create their works without clear understanding as to why, and there are galleries that choose to present their works. And then there are collectors like Mikati-san, who digest those works in their own way and give them a more valuable presentation. A curator or critic who encounters those works at the collector’s house may introduce them to a museum, and at the museum the true value of the works are tested, and the evaluation will spread to the general public. I believe that it is only thanks to people like Mikati-san, who first see value in our works, that we, the artists, come to have meaning in this world. Mikati-san, I have not seen you for quite some time, since the pandemic. I look forward to seeing you again. Thank you as well, leagueoto’s editorial team, for all your support! leagueoto @leagueoto のページで、ミラミカティさん @miramikati のお家のコレクションが公開されてました。 僕やミスター @misteryanen が滅茶苦茶お世話になって来ました。 僕らの芸術作品は日本の70年代後半から始まったオタク文化の影響を受けて来たビジュアルや思想的なモノを、スーパーフラットの思考を通して、西欧的な現代美術に転換させたもので、ただ必死に翻訳し続けて来たのですが、このミカティさんのように、コレクションしてくださって、おしゃれに美しく飾ってくださる事で、全く別次元の美の世界を創造してくださってます。 芸術の世界は、アーティストが何か訳もわからず作ったものを、チョイスするギャラリーが居て、それをミカティさんみたくコレクションして、咀嚼してより価値のあるプレゼンテーションをしてくれて、そのお家で作品に出会った、キュレーター、クリティックが、美術館に紹介してくれて、で、美術館にて真価が問われて、一般の人たちに広まるわけですが、その最初の評価をして下ったミカティさんのような人がいればこその、私たち、アーティストのこの世での意味でもあると思っています。 ミカティさん、pandemicを挟んでしばらくお会いしておりません。 また、お会いできる日を楽しみにしております。 あと、leagueotoの編集部様、いつもサポートありがとうございます！ Beirut, Lebanon
