I spent the majority of my childhood between India and the UK, and whilst growing up in a multicultural background had its challenges… I still view it as the greatest gift I could have ever been given. From a young age, it instilled in me a deep appreciation of inclusivity and open-mindedness. I always noticed when someone went the extra mile to make me feel included and valued, or when they showed a genuine interest in my perspective on things. These were often just small exchanges, the likes of which I am sure most people wouldn’t even remember – but each one undoubtedly shaped my perspective on the type of leader that I would want to be someday. They taught me that differences should be celebrated, that every individual’s unique background is a strength, and that to create an environment in which everyone is welcomed is to create a powerhouse. Embracing diversity isn’t just about personal choice, or the “right thing to do” – it’s a strategic advantage that contributes to the overall success of a thriving, interconnected team.
When I asked my wife @tara_lalvani if I could invest in her company, she said no. It was a smart move, we both knew she was onto a winner – @beautifect ⭐️ #business #entrepreneur #invest
You will never be perfectly prepared to launch your business. Launch it now, and figure out the rest as you go – better to course correct than to start late and miss the opportunity altogether. #risk #entrepreneur #business

The unglamorous truth of entrepreneurship is that you will need to put in a lot of work before you see any results. If you can persevere, however, your work will be paid back ten times over. #entrepreneur #businessmindset #businesstips
I don’t care where you’re from. I don’t care where in your career you are. I don’t care how much you know or don’t know. I don’t even care if you’ve just made a catastrophic mistake. Everyone on my team is treated with the same respect. If your company culture refuses to give someone respect until they’ve ‘earned’ it, it’s a culture that is going to push away the kind, the compassionate, and the intelligent and leave you with the vindictive, the spiteful, and the callous. Respect should be given from day one, never withheld. Only then can true innovation and creativity thrive.
Good friends have your back no matter what. The best friends tell you when you’re making a huge mistake. #feedback #honesty #entrepreneur

If you want to make the most of your team, don’t pit them against each other. #competition #collaboration #entrepreneur
An overwhelmed CEO = sluggish processes, wasted time, needless holdups, unempathetic leadership, confused direction, an aura of stress that trickles down, and an outward appearance of unprofessionalism. The solution? Delegate. Delegate. Delegate. No leader is the best person to handle everything. Trying to be the exception to that rule is only going to lead to disaster. You can’t be a leader with no team. And if you’re not making use of that team, you’re not leading. Lead.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned in 2023 👇🏽 Give people the benefit of the doubt. As a leader, so much of my job is encompassed by having to make snap decisions, and assume intentions – and whilst honing this skill can be a positive thing, it can also be a catalyst for cynicism. This year, there have been a few experiences, both personal and professional, that have reinforced to me the value of empathy and compassion. Recognising that situations are often far more complex than they seem has been eye-opening. Giving people the benefit of the doubt not only allows for time to reach a broader understanding, but also instils a sense of trust and openness, giving people the space they need for personal and professional growth. Of course, there is a time and a place for this – I’m not suggesting that you turn a blind eye to anything, or start acting as a doormat. But a little compassion can go a very long way. #newyear #lifelessons
When I was younger, I would look at ageing as a race against time. I needed to get things done as fast as I could while I was still young, before I got old and therefore worse at what I do best. In reality, however, it just isn’t true. As you age, you learn and you grow, and you become more comfortable with your strengths, your weaknesses and how best to approach them all. Ageing is not a slow process of decline – it’s the journey to becoming your best. #age #growth #growthmindset
One of the hardest things to do as an entrepreneur is to acknowledge when something isn’t the right fit. Maybe you’re not the right person for the job. Maybe the opportunity wasn’t what you thought it was. Maybe you’ve outgrown the position. I know from experience that this can be hard to take – it can feel like a failure, or like you’re giving up. But knowing your own capabilities, and stepping away from experiences that aren’t serving you shows a capacity for self-awareness and evaluation, one of the greatest strengths that you can demonstrate as a leader. Learn when to stick it out – and when it’s time to let go.
Leaders are constantly led by the people they surround themselves with. And it’s a powerful force that can empower or utterly hamper you. Gathering together a diverse group of voices and perspectives will keep you in touch with the world even when you yourself are laser-focused. Keeping company who you trust, and who aren’t afraid to tell you when you’re wrong, will keep you grounded. Surrounding yourself with yesmen and people who share your exact opinion will only launch you into an echo chamber which is increasingly hard to find your way out of. Don’t lead yourself astray with people who stroke your ego – find diverse personalities who will hold you to account. #leadership #entrepreneur #mindset
Self-reflection is the most important path of growth. More important than outside advice, more important than mentorship, more important than listening to people like me. Analyse yourself, and build on that. #selfreflection #growth #entrepreneur
