Everyone on my team is treated with the same respect.
If your company culture refuses to give someone respect until they’ve ‘earned’ it, it’s a culture that is going to push away the kind, the compassionate, and the intelligent and leave you with the vindictive, the spiteful, and the callous.
Respect should be given from day one, never withheld.
