Alex Meneses Instagram – #tbt This photo was taken in Bahrain, The Kingdom of Bahrain. It’s a very beautiful place. I’m standing in front of a Mosque that was built more than 2,000 years ago. I was not allowed to go into the Mosque or to go across the bridge to Saudi Arabia. I was there for a modeling job. They needed someone to represent Kotex sanitary pads. Seriously. They needed someone who could look Arabic, but not too Arabic. I never understood what that meant, but it felt insulting. There were alot of girls who were afraid to go. I wasn’t. Travel was the thing I loved most about modeling. I remember my collarbone and forearms had to be covered at all times and they discouraged walking around without my father or husband. When the advertising agency found out I was walking around the city alone, they sent a car to look for me. They found me and everything was fine. It was an amazing and eye opening experience. I loved it but I don’t think I would want to go back. #babyalex #model
