Today, I pay homage to Gaviões da Fiel, a traditional samba school from São Paulo, which began its history as a street block in 1976.
In 2013, the group paraded with the theme ‘Being loyal is the soul of business,’ addressing the importance of advertising from colonial Brazil to present day.
The parade was signed by the late Max Lopes, a highly regarded Carnival artist. One of the major highlights of that year was the drum queen, Sabrina Sato, who showcased a costume representing the “Coffee Baronesses” of Brazil. These women played a significant role in the Brazilian coffee industry in the 19th and 20th centuries and greatly contributed to the growth and success of Brazil’s coffee production. It is precisely from Sabrina Sato’s costume that my outfit has found its inspiration.

Yes! Beija-Flor de Nilópolis is my tribute today. Founded in 1946, the traditional samba school has 14 titles as champion in the special group parades in Rio de Janeiro.
In 2016, Beija-Flor told the story of a distinguished man from Minas Gerais, born in 1793, who gives his name to the famous Samba Avenue: Cândido José de Araújo Viana, the Marquis of Sapucaí!
My costume today is inspired by the richness of the nobility of that time and the magnificent baroque art, also celebrating the culture and history of the state of Minas Gerais.
