Welcome to Instagram @federalreserveboard!
I’m delighted to see my colleague Jay Powell in the Fed’s first Instagram post. Making our work as central bankers understood to as many people as possible is especially important these days.

Good morning from Santiago. Yesterday, we decided to raise interest rates to reinforce our progress towards euro area price stability.
Today I’m here for the Eurogroup and Eurofin meetings under Spanish presidency. I’m looking forward to good discussions at today’s meetings.
It was an honour to meet with His Holiness Pope Francis during the Mediterranean Meetings to discuss forging closer bonds that can help heal the divisions and inequalities of the region.
I’m happy to be back in Davos for the @WEF annual meetings.
During this week, we will be discussing the global economic outlook.
From my side, I’ll be talking about the progress we’ve made to bring inflation back to our 2% target.

I often get asked for my advice to young people.
It is simple – have big dreams and respect others on the way to achieving them.

Good morning from Brussels.
I’m here at the @europeanparliament for one of my regular hearings with MEPs.
I’m looking forward to a good exchange.
A look behind the scenes at today’s #Eurogroup meeting in Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
It was gratifying to see Minouche Shafik, the first-ever woman President of @columbia University being inaugurated in NYC.

Three Presidents.
One mission: making 🇪🇺 strong!
#WEF24
Today I got to congratulate Minouche Shafik on becoming President of @columbia University, the first ever woman to hold that position.
It was a celebration of diversity at the highest level, and I see it as an encouragement to all women to dream big and to keep breaking new ground.
Always a pleasure to speak to Francine Lacqua!

Governing Council discussions are underway at the ECB in Frankfurt. Our top priority: how to bring inflation back to our 2% target in the euro area.
Stay tuned for our monetary policy decisions and follow our live press conference from 14:45 CET – more details via the link in our bio!
At the ECB, our mission is price stability.
Our fight is against inflation.
Our key tool is interest rates.
We decided to raise interest rates again to reinforce progress and win the battle against inflation.

A productive two days of meetings and discussions with central bank governors and finance ministers in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
Thanks to Finance Minister @nadia_calvino and Banco de España Governor Pablo Hernández de Cos for hosting!
It was good to join colleagues from the @internationalenergyagency and the
@europeaninvestmentbank today in Paris to discuss the importance of a faster clean energy transition
for Europe’s industrial competitiveness and financial stability.
The green transition poses a difficult challenge, but we need to follow through by
understanding what it entails and ensuring that the costs are shared fairly.

It was a pleasure to be in Marseille for the Mediterranean Meetings, where I talked about the challenges confronting the region and how it can reclaim its strength.
Forging closer bonds can help us ultimately overcome the inequalities we face.
It’s a wrap for #WEF24 in Davos!
As always, the Forum was inspiring and filled with insightful discussions. Some highlights:
🔷 During the week, I outlined the progress we’ve made in our fight against inflation and our confidence that we will bring inflation back to our 2% target.
🔷 I was delighted to participate in a town hall on how to trust economics with Michael Sandel and Martin Wolf.
🔷 Although we had different views on how to get it done, there was consensus on the need to complete Europe’s capital market union in a panel discussion with
Roelof Botha, Nadia Calviño, Paschal Donohoe and Christian Sewing.
🔷 I also had the pleasure to join the panel on global economic outlook next to my dear friend Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, as well as Mohammed Al-Jadaan, Christian
Lindner, David M. Rubenstein and Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
We are going in the right direction in our fight against inflation, I told @BloombergTV’s Francine Lacqua at Davos.
But we are not going to shout victory before we are confident that it is sustainably at 2%, medium term, and have the data to support it.

I’ve been working from our Brussels office over the last couple of days and wanted to share a couple of photos with colleagues there.
The first photo shows the @europeancentralbank team there. They maintain our ongoing dialogue with other European institutions and support me greatly. A big thank you!
The second photo shows the House of the Euro community. Since the end of last year, our team has worked in this shared home for Eurosystem central banks.
