Chithi & Daughter – An unending tale of Love and Laughter 🥺♥️

During my engagement preparations, I was so keen to twin with Popsie for the big day and took so many pinterest reference images to click images with her but in reality nothing actually worked as Madam was way tired,sleepy and almost cranky 😅 after every event but this chithi’s heart couldn’t let it go and somehow wanted to do a shoot with her in all her outfits so it’ll be a memory for both of us forever. 🥹
I somehow figured out a casual day when she was in her best mood and shot some interesting pictures with her on our Motta Maadi (the same place where Popsie and I have played and had immense fun).
While I actually wanted to post these images long ago it somehow skipped my mind and now it seems like these pictures were waiting for a soulful song like this that so beautifully describes our bond!! 🥺♥️

And Popsie’s lovely outfit and my gorgeous skirt that was custom made to twin with eachother 😍 by none other than my forever @fiorebymalar_ ❤️
Just the way Popsie says “Niceeee” these pictures and this song are absolutely nice and stole my heart in every single way!! 🥺
Popsie, may not be my biological daughter but she’s the most treasured piece of my heart and I see her and value her like my own and there’s not a single day that goes by without missing her giggles in our home when she’s away from us!
When 2020 was bad for everyone, her mom delivered this tiny little angel and brought her home to brighten our lives in the best way, ever. 🧿

2022- A year where I was lost, found and came back! 🫶
What happens when your life topples down the other way in no time? It’s a complete mess that’s leaves you blacked out.
Today is different from how the year started but the road wasn’t easy. Depression caught me, sleeplessness haunted me & I slipped into a zone of feeling lost. It made me feel miserable and exhausting that I tried to be alone and away. As much I stayed away I also couldn’t skip my commitment towards work.
I wouldn’t say things changed overnight but they slowly seemed different. I had some people (whom I initially feared to trust) who actually came into my life and brought some sun in my wrecked phase. It got harder to mingle but I tried and I’m still trying to do it.
I’ve also thought depression flies away the moment you stay away or take a trip. 🥲 But No! I tried all of them and failed at it miserably while convincing my people to let me live alone. Also even upon living alone for a brief period, my heart ached more than it had to heal.
But today, this moment my heart is filled with gratitude just the way it was supposed to be. Though it was hard and rocky, I learnt. No regrets, instead a heart that was so wounded is now healed and calmer than before! I threw away toxicity, I found myself, I found my bunch, I found my soulmate 🫶 & I found PEACE.
Some years down the lane, I would definitely look back into this year to say a thank you for the person it has carved me into ❤️
There will be moments that will shake us, it might even break us. It’s okay. You are precious and nothing is over you. Remember to give enough time to heal, no matter how long it takes. Remember to spend time with the ones who don’t judge you at your vulnerable times. Remember your family loves you. Remember there’s nothing bigger than your peace and calmness. And remember there’s abundant love yet left in this world ♥️ that will make you feel free and feel ALIVE.

PS: I didnt cry & then begin rec. ⏺️I was asked to rec a self talk on how my day went every night,basis the suggestion of my therapist. Those are times when I began to Talk and tears rolled out of nowhere.
POV: What a year can do to you 🫶🏼
If someone met me in 2022 and told me everything will get better some day and asked me to sleep off my fears and sorrows, I would have never believed those words. I swear I would have never taken those to heart.
But, like everyone says, “life is a roller coaster of emotions, there will be ups and downs” and that year was my lowest of the lows. I rather didn’t know how to get past it or how to overcome it.
Like I’ve shared earlier with multiple sessions of therapy, multiple days of staying away from family and with some some amazing selfless souls who stayed by me no matter what came by I somehow pushed through the year and entered 2023.
When I think of the beginning of the year, I still get butterflies! 😍
WHAT A YEAR!
365 days of fulfilling personal life, steady growth in my professional space, some peace, lots of joy & enormous love!
I won’t deny that 2023 also had days when I went back home with disappointments. Yet if I have to look back at the last year there’s immense gratitude that fills my heart and eyes. Thanks to God for all that I’ve been bestowed with!
Some days will be hard, some days will be tricky but if a sense of peace and gratitude passes through you, then call yourself lucky!
If I learnt something this year, it’s patience & perseverance.
If you’re reading this and you had a bad 2023, remember “It’s Okay” 🫂
Give it some time, some effort and lot of perseverance. One morning you’ll wake up to the life you wanted all for yourself with a broad beautiful smile. But give it a fight. A tough one. Okay?

When this chithi was so adamant to twin with her little angel Popsie for her life’s happiest event 🥺♥️
Yeah, by now all of you must know I twinned with Popsie for my engagement and it was the first decision I made after picking a date for the event.
When my stylist @artra_styling was scouting for fabrics to design my engagement skirt, she also made sure extra fabric was purchased to make a similar skirt for Popsie!!
The idea by itself was cute to imagine two similar skirts in extreme sizes 🥺♥️
My skirt went through a lot of iterations between my stylist and the designer while I handed over Popsie’s outfit to our Malar Akka @fiorebymalar_ and asked her to make something tiny and cute so Popsie would look like my little version!
That was it. A day before the engagement we received Popsie’s dress and it was too beautiful to describe!! ❤️
It’s made from Pure Benarasi Silk paired with a halter neck top from a pure silk brocade fabric that has hand embroidered kundan work & zardosi detailing with a lovely knot at the back which was already looking way too cute!
For a second that day, I wanted to be Popsie to just twirl around in that outfit and enjoy myself! It was that beautiful and adorable to see!
Meanwhile when we decided to shoot at a later date I found my engagement saree blouse ( customised by @d.sign.d ) matching more perfectly with Popsie’s outfit hence wore that and straight away took her to our terrace to shoot these close to pictures that will forever remain in my memory and heart!!!
Just like how our skirts are twinning, I wish one day we think alike too! 🥺😍
Cheers to us for creating more and more memories when life offers us some precious moments!!
Ohhh yeah! Btw These skirts are called Panelled skirts because they are panelled in a way that will let you twirl through so beautifully along with your lil one. If you’re thinking of getting done, ask your designer to stitch matching matching panelled skirts!!! Eeee.

A week that had a roller coaster of emotions, but it was worth it in the end!❤️✍️
The week started with my birthday, and I was a little sad that I couldn’t do anything i used to do every year on my birthdays. But the fact that I had a roof above my head, food on my plate, and my people beside me amidst all the chaos happened outside made me better!
2 days after we got signal & power back, we immediately wanted to do something we could from our end & started to share verified volunteers’ numbers, but in a couple of hours, it grew into something big that we didn’t expect. Fast forward, the next day, we were on the ground distributing essentials to the people who were affected. (Check out the #Michaungcyclone2023 story highlights to know more about what we did) Thanks to the volunteers, Jai anna, Lokesh anna , and many more for helping us and guiding us on the field with all the necessary details. This wouldn’t have been possible without them! 🫡
The 3 days we were on the field gave us a lot of memories to look back at and have a happy smile on our faces. The moments we spent on the lorry the whole day, or the moments we spent as a team entertaining ourselves when moving from one place to another or the late nights we spent packing the things for the next day, every moment, every minute, every second will always be a core memory for all of us. :’)
As much as we had fun and a lot of learnings in the field, there were a few incidents & the kindness of the people that moved our hearts. People who were selling flowers and tea came forward and donated money to help people watching us at that moment. All the Auto Annas and driver Annas helped us in loading, arranging, and distributing the things. And so many strangers on the road helped us in kutty kutty ways bought a heartfelt smile on our faces. ❤️
& the four days made us realize the love we have for our city, CHENNAI and its people. No matter what the city goes through, it will always be our home, and it will always have our hearts! 🫂❤️

Makeover is a magic! Ft the magician @kabooki_mua 💕
And again came an important day of my life where I decided I’d get decked up by none other than my favourite and everyone’s favourite!
Kaboo Akka, as I call her is more a sister and a friend than a makeup artist to me!
I’ve always heard the saying, “You got to speak less and your work should speak more.” If I know someone whom this saying fits the best, it’s truly Kaboo Akka!
The way her hands create a magic on anyone’s face is something that doesn’t come easily. She’s put in years of hardwork, stayed consistent and is extremely passionate to be where is she today! Master of the craft and I’m sure it’s certainly everyone’s dream to get their makeover done by her, the rockstar herself!
When I was called for an award show, I had no second thoughts but right away called up akka and check if she’s free on the said date and when she said “Yes” my joy knew no bound!
I’ve earlier been her demo model and fell so much in love with my own self and I was inquisitively looking forward that day as to when she would complete and I’d get to see how I looked! 😍
Tada, in no time she used her magic wand and got me ready and the minute I saw myself on the mirror, I was taken aback at how natural and how dressed up I looked! 😍 It was a perfect balance & more than me, it was my mom who was head over heels in love with the look!
