I'm extremely grateful that I get to write books and put them out into the world. This book is about stress and how we manage it. I interviewed some incredible stress experts and people I love about how they have navigated stressful life situations. It was also an opportunity for me to get curious about my own stress levels and triggers. It's safe to say I learned a lot along the way. I hope it helps. Ps sorry @steven 😬

Fearne Cotton Instagram – Meet Frankie, AKA super Frank.✨️

You may have seen that I’ve been talking about @themayhew quite a bit on here recently. It’s an amazing rescue centre that’s been around for well over 100 years. I first visisted the Mayhew in my teens, then adopted Lula and Keloy from there when I was 20. I was so lucky to have Lula and Keloy for 21 gorgeous years. I still miss them so much.
As many of you know we then adopted Simon in 2022 who had been abandoned at our local veterinary clinic.
Then before christmas me and the kids visited the mayhew to look around and fell in love with Frankie. He is so confident and cuddly and purrs non stop. We brought him home yesterday and he is settling in nicely. Obviously Simon is PISSED off so we are taking it slowly and keeping them in separate rooms for now. They can see each other through a glass door and can smell each other for now. Will let you know how we get on. We are all making sure to give Simon a lot of love so he feels safe.
If you are thinking of homing a cat or dog I urge you to check out @themayhew and the incredible work they’re doing.
More Frankie updates to come. ❤️
Fearne Cotton Instagram – Little Things is out today.✨️
What a curious joy it was to dive into the subject of stress. The subject is so huge that at one point I nearly abandoned the whole project. Writing about stress is strangely conducive to feeling….well quite stressed. Yet I’m glad I pushed through as I learned a lot about myself and my own stress triggers as well as some top coping mechanisms from experts and mates.
One of the game changing learnings from writing the book was to cultivate awareness of whether I’m reacting to stress or responding to it. When we react to it, it’s usually habitual and learned behaviour from childhood. When we respond we take a moment to pause and look at what is really going on. I’m trying to practise that one (with varying degress of success) daily.
I hope you find it helpful.
