The more I gain knowledge of my indigenous roots, the more I have realized that being a voice & telling stories about my heritage & ancestors is what my purpose is in this industry. I remember being embarrassed to tell people at school what my ethnicity was or speak my language in front of others because it was so different. But now, knowing all the history and influence we have had, I am proud & grateful for my uniqueness…but wish it was taught to me in History class!
