Iza Calzado Instagram – For Deia, 2024 was greeted in Boracay with a runny nose that only lasted 24 hours. When we got home on the 2nd of January, she got a fever. On the third day of the fever, we went to see our Pedia, @romeonuguidmd and he asked for Deia to take a blood test to best identify the cause of her fever. That night, we found out she was positive for dengue. The next day her fever was gone and the rashes started coming out and, thankfully, white blood cells were going up! I can choose to see it as my baby sadly greeting the year with sickness or be amazed by her strength and resilience. I choose to believe the latter. She also took her first few steps on January 1st and it’s been an incredible journey of seeing her build her strength, skills and confidence, one step at a time. 😍 P.S. Deia got baptised today and we are so glad she’s healthy and well. Can’t wait to share those photos soon! 🥰
