His beloved Goddess Lakshmi appeared and stood next to him, sheltering him from scorching sunlight and harsh mountain weather for many years thus turned into a Badri tree herself. Lord Vishnu upon finishing his meditation said that you have also done penance equal to me, hence from today onwards I will be worshiped along with you in this Dham. You have protected me in the form of Badri tree, hence from today I will be known as Badri’s Nath “Badrinath “.
