I’m calling in healthy relations through the veil, and laying down my sword on the past. I lit a candle for all those before me. I lit a candle for all those coming to me. I lit a candle for me, and honor my life and choice from today forward in gratitude, that I still walk, that I still sing, that I still dance and move for the coming world. It is what we make of it, life. I put on an army coat today to honor and release those in my life cloaked in pain that shared that pain with me, a costume called the ghosts that haunt me. I honor those spirits today, those that my grandfathers and lovers never did. Today is a day meant for remembrance and offerings of respect and love. Today is a good day for forgiveness, for starting over. I lit a candle for the pain in the hearts of my relations that they don’t talk about. I lit a candle for you. Today is a day of somber songs, not debauchery despite society. I hope we remember with clarity, the possibilities of freedom before us. Freedom isn’t free. We work to liberate all of us, from fear, guilt, sorrow, oppresion, shame, dependency. I wish for you the courage, to choose liberation, for your ancestors and decendants, for your love, for your life.
