Here goes my Andre Braugher story: I had been playing roles which hadn’t inspired me, I felt creatively empty. After 5 yrs of begging, I FINALLY get the call to read for @sonofsicilia, (Tom Fontana) & Barry Levinson. I get there, read and NOW they’re giving me something “extra” to go work on in the hallway. ITS FREAKIN DETECTIVE FRANK PEMBLETON’s SIDES!!!! 🤯😳 GTFOH‼️‼️WTF‼️ Awww Helllll no‼️‼️‼️😫 I had watched EVERY, SINGLE episode of HLOTS and STUDIED Andre Braugher’s phenomenal work like a dog on a bone! Do you hear me‼️ I was scared as SH*‼️I got the part of Det Rene Sheppard and it changed my career. I finally had the chance to meet Andre when we all returned for the HLOTS Movie, I approached him and told him the story. He laughed with that broad and generous grin, hugged me and said, welcome to the HLOTS family🥰 He was one of the industries BEST! But more importantly, one of our industries KINDEST🙏🏽
