Ning Baizura Instagram – Taking care of a person with dementia is very challenging, especially if they have lots of short term memory lapse, sleep disorders, and are prone to wandering, agitation and aggression. Caregivers will burnout and hv exhaustion!!! This are real, trust me I went through it. I thought i could be brave & strong. 💪🏽 I thought i can handle this situation , and it will be fine. Well it all began in March 2023. We were doing Numerous MRI’s & seeked a few neurologist. And finally , my Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. Full Stop. Honestly, It took a great toll on me ,my hubby and our son. I went through depression. I was crying in my own time alot. I was angry with myself . I was bitter. It was hard as I needed to look happy in the public eye and heal ppl with my music. Whereas at home i was feeling useless & alone. Our quarrels between me & hubby was escalating at that time, Then I realized I had to seek help. I was not sure of how to deal with the fact that my loving mother was losing her memory. 😢 That was my Issue. I went for therapy, sound healing, sharing sessions, Reiki, Energy Healing Sessions and Meditation. (Until today) with her too. I wanted to understand what i can do to make her life fulfilling and mine. & my family too. Thanks to my loving hubby & Ryan For being my pillar of strength my support system also help came from the Doctors & my close friends. I am grateful, blessed, full of life now to cut the story short! 11 months down the road now & we are giving the best care for Nana Stella. I am sure u understand what’s it like to care for an elderly. Esp our parents. NOW I give myself TIME OUT. I listen to her needs. I make her laugh more & sing more with her. Give Nana Stella more hugs when she gets her anxiety. more TLC. Every day is a brand new day for her. Which is so funny & creating memories is what we as a family prioritize NOW more than ever.
