With the Hollywood strike resolved, I can finally share how thrilled I am to be part of a film still showing in 750 theaters nationwide—a remarkable achievement for an Iranian American family story. 💚🤍♥️ Portraying the resilience of an Iranian mother and the immigrant experience which so many have connected to has been an absolute honor. The man who you’re seeing me act like a 7-year-old for is Damien Rice. Easily, my most favorite artist of the last 15 years. His music has resonated with me like no other, allowing me to discover my own voice. Literally. (Thanks @ariamoodybroody ) This moment all began with an Instagram message, intended for his manager but leading to a chain of connections (and DAMIEN ACTUALLY HEARING my “persianized” cover of his song) that brought me to Sicily as a guest at his show… Meeting Damien in person, engaging in genuine conversations – it felt surreal, like a dream materializing. Moral of this story? Dare to romanticize the fuck out of your life because, well, we’re all gonna die sooner or later. lol A big shout out to my ride or die @laylamoha for being there with me and getting a kick out of my childlike glee. And thank you @damienrice and team for inviting us. A night I’ll never forget. ♥️
