Payel De’s nearly decade-long training at The Creative Arts, under Ramanjit Kaur’s direction, paved the way for her success. Noteworthy productions such as ‘Is Job Charnock coming to dinner?’, ‘Upon a yarn’, ‘The merry go round’ and ‘Crab Soup’, which was an Indo-UK project (TheatreScience Festival) showcased her talent on stage, and ultimately establishing her as a prominent personality on Bengali Television. Payel De, embarked on her television journey in 2006 with Zee Bangla’s Ekdin Pratidin, portraying Chandrayee. Renowned for her roles in television serials like Durga and Behula on Star Jalsha, she has showcased versatility. Starting her career during college, she continued to captivate audiences in series like Bodhu Kon Alo Laaglo Chokhe and others such as Maa Durga, Tobu Mone Rekho, Ardhangini, Jaahanara, Durga Durgeshwari, Chuni Panna, and presently in Desher Maati on Star Jalsha.
