Steve @piersonforca Pierson is running for California State assembly district 44. One in five Angelenos works in entertainment. We have had good representation by our state legislators, but they will soon be terming out. I’m excited to support Steve because he and his wife Melinda McGraw @melinda_mcgraw are 30+ year residents of Assembly District 44, and 30+ year members of SAG-AFTRA, too. If elected, Steve will be the only member of the Assembly with any lived experience in the entertainment industry. (In addition to his SAG-AFTRA membership, Steve owned a small sound studio for a decade.) He is committed to fighting with all he has to keep entertainment jobs here in California.
Steve is also endorsed by the California Teachers’ Association, Barbara Boxer, and Reproductive Freedom for All (formerly NARAL), among many many other people and organizations I trust. Steve Pierson understands the devastation of tax incentives that take work and skilled professionals out of our state. State Legislatures , (The California State Assembly is the lower house of the California State Legislature, the upper house being the California State Senate. The Assembly convenes, along with the State Senate, at the California State Capitol in Sacramento. (“It is the duty of legislators to enact just laws.”)), are where the laws of our state, city and our communities are determined. It’s where our representatives can impact our healthcare, education, jobs, environment, and all the things that matter to us and our families, every day.
