Despite my mastery in dream manipulation on lucid dreaming, I dreamt of you last night. Rain pouring in, squalling rain outside…I hated it… It was a party night at yours with all of our old old friends… the ones that we have loved unconditionally over the years…one of them hummed a tune, giving all of us nostalgic goosies.. and another one joined with more humming and then another one adding lyrics to that tune, that song, that is far less known and far less appreciated in the world, but to all of us, it is a god damn Time Machine…. You looking at me was almost a reflex.. We’ve locked eyes a million times since and before we’ve been in love, but your synaptic speed is still slower than mine… Cz when has it happened that you’ve looked at me and I haven’t already been looking at you? 🙂 Locking of eyes is like agreeing and confessing I feel.. You stood up, came to me, sat in my lap, made me wrap my arms around you and started swaying… Surprisingly I never felt your weight.. Maybe because I had always liked it.. you effortlessly landing your big tall self on my lap, managing my arms around your entire self, feeling like a baby… The dream was only becoming more beautiful.. More songs were sung, more poetry was read.. We all went from irshaad to mukarrar..and then again.. and again… Like we were in some godforsaken loop… which made me think of how you and I had gone from irshaad to overdoing mukarrar between us… What in hell had gone wrong love? Cz looking at you had become the most difficult right when you were so close to me.. It stopped raining, I should’ve felt good because I hate it when it rains but it had been raining for so long that I had gotten okay with it, i guess. I started feeling the weight..i did.. And I woke up… God I hate dreaming.. It’s painful, you know… We haven’t locked eyes, not once since and right before we fell out of love..locking of eyes is like agreeing and confessing, you see.. And not once will I dare to look into your beautiful eyes now.. If you look at me I won’t be already looking at you… Cz I fear looking into your eyes and not recognising you at all… I won’t be agreeing, and I’ll be far far from confessing.. #letters
