Windows to the soul.. I’ve painted so many eyes.. …always with some trepidation, understanding the stories they might tell.. the moment in time they might capture, when rendered faithfully. Periodically, I think I’ve done a half decent job.
A sneak peek of the wax casting of a female nude ready for ‘lost wax casting’ in bronze. Really excited to share this body of work. Getting back in the foundry.. pouring liquid metal… it’s been too long away from my favourite medium, second only to my work in stone. Although these pics are of a female nude in wax- a transitory medium en route to its final bronze iteration- there is something unique about the surface and colour of wax.
