During the January 6th investigation, Jim Jordan proudly defied a subpoena. Now he wants to hold Hunter Biden in contempt. Even though Hunter was willing to testify publicly. And Jordan refused to testify at all.
Welcome to another week of Impeachment Unlimited. Having no legislative accomplishments to show for their 14 months in power, Republicans are voting on yet another pointless resolution. These are not serious people.
I just spoke on the House floor about the through-line, from the legitimate impeachments of Donald Trump to the illegitimate impeachment inquiry into President Biden. Here’s what I said:
If Hunter Biden’s failure to appear for testimony is a criminal act — Why is Jim Jordan doing the exact same thing only worthy of a shrug? That’s the question of the day. And so far, House Republicans have no answer.
I just voted NO on MAGA Republicans’ sham impeachment inquiry. They have no evidence. But they also have no agenda to move the country forward. So this was the result.
The Colorado Supreme Court just ruled Donald Trump is disqualified from the ballot — and from holding office — under the 14th Amendment. Accountability for inciting an insurrection. It’s about time.
Here’s why I voted to expel George Santos:
Eve and I wish you and your family a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. We are grateful for so much, for our children and extended family, for our health and the health of others, and for all of our wonderful friends.
Universal background checks are just common sense. To save lives. To keep schools and communities safe. Is that too much to ask, @housegop?
Eve and I at the Rose Parade this morning. The best way to start 2024! Thanks for letting us hitch a ride, Mr. Mayor.

Donald Trump’s businesses received at least $7.8 million from foreign entities while he was president. Yet Republicans in Congress will say nothing, all while accusing President Biden of the same — without evidence. Their brand: willful blindness and hypocrisy.
Tonight, Donald Trump called Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un “very fine people.” He’s not hiding who his friends are — and they’re no friends of the United States.
Three years ago, our Capitol was attacked. I was there when it happened. We all witnessed it. And yet, some Members of Congress continue to deny what took place — and want to rewrite history. Our democracy is still fragile — and we must constantly work to defend it.
Today we’re faced with a simple choice on gun safety. Pass universal background checks to save the lives of our constituents — or cozy up to the @nra . I know what I’m choosing.
From my family to yours, and for all who are celebrating the Jewish holidays, we wish you a happy Hanukkah.
There’s no evidence of wrongdoing by Joe Biden, so @housegop attacks his son. Because they think it wounds the President personally. I don’t think attacking a father for being a good father is a good political strategy. But for MAGA House Republicans, the cruelty is the point.
I always tell my colleagues in Congress, it’s good for us to spend some time with celebrities. Because we get an understanding of what celebrity is – and it’s not us. But one thing we share is the desire to make sure our voice and images are not used in deceptive ways. Lainey Wilson explains why:
Compassion, justice, and fairness. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. urged us not only to live these values, but to spread them in a relentless fight for equality. His work is not finished. And as we honor his memory today, we recommit ourselves to that effort.
We know what prevents gun violence. – Universal background checks – Banning assault weapons & extended ammunition clips But Congress lacks the political courage to get them done. That has to change.
Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with @seiuuhw in the Capitol today. Fresenius & @satellitehealthcare are putting profits over patients, and raking in millions while their employees are overworked and underpaid. That has to change.

Two years ago, we successfully passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, bringing more than 14.5 billion to California for roads, bridges, public transit, green spaces, ports and airports, and so much more. I’m proud to say that a lot of those infrastructure improvements will take place in the 30th Congressional District!
