Dan Crenshaw Instagram – Tonight, I voted to impeach DHS Secretary Mayorkas. Right after I filmed this video, that vote failed.

Impeachment is a political act, not a judicial one. We aren’t a court. Impeachment is our sole recourse for the people to remove a President or an official who has overwhelmingly lost the trust of the people. A lot of people claim there aren’t grounds to impeach Mayorkas because, technically, no crimes have been committed. But the Founders enshrined impeachment as a recourse for the Legislative Branch to remove those in the Executive Branch who aren’t doing their jobs — even if there’s no crime. It’s a feature of the checks and balances principle. That’s my interpretation of the impeachment authority. Other smart people disagree, and believe a provable crime must be committed. But if that’s the case – and there’s a crime committed – then wouldn’t we rely on the courts to enforce?

Mayorkas has abandoned his position as DHS Secretary. He has refused to execute his basic duties under the law and refused to enforce immigration law. Mayorkas will be impeached. This isn’t finished.

Dan Crenshaw Instagram – Hooyah BUD/S class 364! It was an honor to hit the surf with these 25 men as they savored their last moment of Hell Week.

Hell Week is the 4th week of the 6 month BUD/S crucible. It is the true gut test that screens out candidates who might quit under pressure. It begins on a Sunday and ends on a Friday morning. This class started with a 115 students, and is now down to 25. Only in very rare cases does anyone quit training after Hell Week. They might be removed for other reasons, but they’ve proven that they’d rather put their body through immense suffering before they quit. After Hell Week, we actually start teaching them skills. It’s a waste of time to teach students SEAL skill sets before they’ve proven themselves in Hell Week.

My BUD/S class was 264. So class 364 is my centennial class, which is why I came out to see them secure Hell Week.

This is the first time I’ve actually seen anyone finish Hell Week outside my own experience back in 2006 (and again in 2007). You can see from the video how much pain these guys have endured. By the end, your body is chafed, frozen to the bone, swollen, and you’re hallucinating on top of that. I wonder if these guys will even remember I was there!

Those are some hard men. They are still well over a year away from becoming SEALs. There’s lots more training and challenges to overcome. But now we know that they have what it takes. Huge congratulations to these guys.
