Two sisters, Georgia and Jett. When we went to the shelter, one of my daughters wanted one and her sister wanted the other, so we took them both. Happiness ensued.

Georgia, Jett and I wanted to let y’all know that Tommy Orange’s latest novel Wandering Stars, out on February 27, is excellent. You can snag a copy and get yr ticket to see Tommy and I in conversation about his important book on March 5 at St. Joseph’s University in Brooklyn. Tickets available now — link in story.
About Wandering Stars: Extending his constellation of narratives into the past and future, Orange traces the legacies of the Sand Creek Massacre of 1864 and the Carlisle Indian Industrial School through three generations of a family in a story that is by turns shattering and wondrous.

See y’all soon in ATX. Thanks to the fine folks at @austinfilm for putting together this weekend of my favorite Paul Newman Westerns. I hear there are just a few tickets left… so giddy up if you want to be there.
More info from @austinfilm:
In the 20th century, America’s cultural imagination was shaped by the colonial fantasies of the ever popular Western—tropes that, among other things, further marginalized and erased Native Americans. In Paul Newman’s “new” Hollywood, Westerns offered a chance to critique these conventions and push traditional boundaries of genre and representation. Joining us live and in-person March 24–26, actor/director @ethanhawke introduces Paul Newman’s West—five anti-archetypal Westerns from one of the screen’s most dynamic and probing performers.
