caption: when you spend six hours trying to contact Amazon about your missing electric toothbrush that has been returned cus it stopped working and was meant to be repaired (cus it was still within warranty and wasn’t cheap), so you speak to Amazon online and after being transferred to four different team members, they can’t find any records of the toothbrush turning up at their servicing centre, so they offer you a replacement or a refund, and you say a REPLACEMENT cus you just want your toothbrush back, but then a different amazon team member emails you and does a 180, tells you it’s ‘out of stock’ (but that’s a lie cus it IS in stock, it’s just £40 more expensive than when you originally bought it) so instead they send a refund without asking if it was ok, or where the refund should go, and turns out it’s been sent to the card you originally purchased the toothbrush on, but it’s your deadname on an expired card, and now you have to call your bank to find out where the fvck the money has gone… so you call Amazon again to say that this is annoying and explain the whole situation again but with the added bank details issue, and also pointed out that they shouldn’t have offered a replacement if they never intended to replace it…so then they put you through to a manager, and the manager agrees it wasn’t fair, so they credit your account to buy the exact same electric toothbrush at the price you originally paid for it (since you chose the replacement option and not a refund and couldn’t stop the refund cus it had already been sent), but ultimately you’re happy cus whilst the whole process was super frustrating, you remained calm but firm, and now you’ve a working electric toothbrush again… aaaand then four days later the original serviced/repaired toothbrush turns up. now you have two toothbrushes and feel like you should call them up and tell them that this has happened but you’ve already used the new new replacement toothbrush you ordered, but know if they ask you to send it back again it will probably end up in landfill cus it’s ‘used’ and also you’ll probably be on the phone for hours again so I guess you just have lost time but an extra toothbrush. #ineedanap
