Yesterday I had the honor of sitting in on a UN Security Council meeting and making the opening remarks. I am incredibly grateful to all of the assembled delegates who are working tirelessly to bring the tens of thousands of Ukrainian children who have been abducted into Russia or Russian held Ukrainian territories back to their families. I was incredibly moved by the testimony of Sasha (13), Kira (14), and Ilya (11) who were lucky enough to be tracked down and rescued by their incredibly brave grandparents. When Sasha was asked what he would say if he knew the entire world were listening, he simply replied in Ukrainian, “I would like them to please help me find my mother.” Sasha’s mother has been missing for nearly two years now. While he was testifying Sasha drew this picture and gave it to me on his way out. It’s going up as soon as I get home Sasha! As a co founder of @bluecheckukraine and a chair of @buildersukraine we are doing everything we can to raise awareness about this situation and return as many of these children to their families as possible. Please help if you can. You can sign the petition to bring these kids home here: http://bit.ly/releasethechildrenNOW and you can donate as well at www.Bluecheck.in Thank you. @u24.gov.ua @bluecheckukraine @buildersukraine @melaniejoly @daria_herasymchuk @tulyakova_ira #ukraine #unitednations

⚡️ Quick question for @lievschreiber 🇺🇦 Why is it so important for us to ‘keep going’ in solidarity with Ukraine?
As this conversation takes place, over 19,500 Ukrainian children remain kidnapped in Russia. They will never be returned to their parents without our support. When violent extremism attacks a neighboring democracy in one region, it threatens the entire free world. Together, we must #standforukraine and support efforts to #returnthechildren 🇺🇦 Join us @buildersukraine, co-chaired by @chefjoseandres, @garry_kasparov, @lievschreiber, and Colonel Alexander Vindman. Sign the petition to return the children: https://www.change.org/p/u-n-must-demand-that-russia-releases-all-abducted-ukrainian-children Link in bio @buildersukraine
Ukraine Is Fighting for the Same Values Americans Hold Dear — our co-founder @LievSchreiber in @TIME on the two-year anniversary of the Russian invasion of #Ukraine. “We must look past our differences and uphold the values that define us as Americans. The freedoms and liberties that have allowed us to thrive as a nation and a people. It is exactly those same shared values that the people of Ukraine are fighting and dying for every day.” https://time.com/collection/time100-voices/6794354/liev-schreiber-ukraine-values/
Playwright Sasha Denisova uplifts the story of her mother who remains in Kyiv today with her play MY MAMA AND THE FULL-SCALE INVASION onstage @thewilmatheater in Philadelphia in February & available for digital streaming worldwide.
“It’s inhumane, it’s barbaric. And it is an attempt at genocide…And that’s not how we do things in this day and age.” BlueCheck’s co-founder Liev Schreiber discusses #Russia’s war in #Ukraine and his relief efforts. FRIDAY @pbs 8:30 pm ET on WNET. Check PBS for local listings. #humanitarianaid
Yesterday Russia launched a wave of attacks throughout Ukraine, including on the eastern frontline Donetsk region, where our partner @projectvictoryukraine operates. According to news reports, three people from Donetsk were killed, a dozen were injured, and a hospital and several apartments were damaged. This underscores the life-saving importance of BlueCheck’s effort to get help where it is needed, when it is needed. Thanks to your financial support, Project Victory has been delivering medical supplies and training first responders in the region. The trauma training team recently held a training seminar in Kramatorsk in a bomb shelter for local police. And the team held a 3-day training for first responders in Dnipro. No doubt the skills they learned immediately went into effect in the recent round of Russian attacks. Please make a donation to BlueCheck. It can mean the difference between life and death. bluecheck.in/donate P.S. The recent wave of Russian attacks comes amid reports that Russia is using thousands of freight carriages to create a defensive “train” against Ukrainian troops close to the front line in eastern Ukraine. Known as the “tsar train,” the structure covers just under 19 miles and serves as a defensive line against Ukraine. Russia isn’t backing down; neither can we. ✊🏼 #russia #ukraine #humanitarianaid #children #war #underseige
Together we helped put some smiles on people’s faces by funding Happy Kids’ three-month project to address the critical needs of Ukrainian women and children affected by the war. This initiative focuses on the psychological and physical rehabilitation of those displaced, specifically targeting 30 families from the Kharkiv region, which includes 30 women and 36 children. Kharkiv is under regular bombardment and the families were identified from high-risk areas. The “Care” program is taking place at the Karpatyia Sanatorium, chosen for its family-friendly environment, safety, and comprehensive treatment facilities. The project includes accommodation, rehabilitation physiotherapy, balanced nutrition, psychological support, and diverse activities like art therapy and excursions. The program aims to provide respite, reduce stress, and offer medical treatment to its participants. Your support of BlueCheck goes directly to projects like these that are helping Ukrainians in the face of the unimaginable. Please give today: bluecheck.in/donate
