I think about the things my dad has missed out on since he passed away 20 years ago today. Some things are silly, like iPhones. I can just hear him saying, “This is neater n’ shit!” Some things are major, like the Seahawks winning a Super Bowl. He would’ve loved that. And some things make me so sad that I can barely breathe, like him never meeting my husband or knowing that I turned into the kind of man he hoped I would – one who can stand up for himself & find the funny in everything. I think that would’ve made him proud. I hope it would’ve. He taught me so much, including how to swear like it’s an art form. I wrote about that in the first chapter of my first book (swipe ➡️ for an excerpt). He was so funny. 20 years is unfathomable. I miss him & I love him so much.

He believed it would happen, even when I couldn’t. And if it hadn’t happened, he’d still make feel like a winner. I’m the luckiest man. I love you, baby. 🥰

5. Wow. Today we announced that we get to come back for a 5th season. Anyone who’s known me since I was a little kid knows that I’ve always said I wanted to be a talk show host. I’d watch Regis & Kathy Lee and point at the TV. “I’m gonna do that,” I’d tell my mom. And she’d say, “I know you are.” I don’t think it’s an accident that I met Drew right after mom passed away – I think mom guided us toward each other. This show, our crew and my friendship with Drew has changed my life. It’s an honor to be her co-pilot. And the relationship that we have with the audience wows me every day, too. It’s a literal dream come true and I’m eternally grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Here’s to even more together. 🥰
