I woke up to see team T&T on the front pages of our newspapers all throughout Trinidad & Tobago! 🎉🇹🇹 Here we’re on the cover of @ttnewsday with my incredible @missworldtrinidadandtobago team, my amazing family and beautiful supporters. I couldn’t have asked for a better send off! We danced to the sweet music of the steel pan complimented by my family playing the melodic African drums. The air was filled with this feeling of pride and excitement. Love you all so much! Today I had the privilege of sitting down with The Honourable Donna Cox, our Minister of Social Development and Family Services, to speak about my book, “let’s talk about feelings,” which is teaching the necessary tools for children to be able to communicate about their feelings and learn about their mental health. It is my duty to play an active role in creating a bright and hopeful future for the younger generations of our country and the world around us. She shared words of wisdom and solid advice to take with me to India for @missworld☺️. I was invited as a speed “influencer” to speak to these ladies about many different topics like mental health, self esteem, self love, women empowerment and much more! I’m always grateful for these opportunities to connect with the younger ones and create a safe space for open conversations. When I was a young girl I was extremely shy and didn’t know how to use my voice and speak up, so being in the position I am today really warms my heart to be able to connect with them and be a big sister to support and guide them. To the young ladies I met, continue to shine your light brightly, remember to proudly be yourself and continue to be kind 🩷 lots of love

Children’s movie day today at the La Seiva Village homework centre!🍿 the invisible scars project is extremely proud and grateful to be working with the @atouch_of_joy team who are providing this experience for the children of our community💚. Did you know something as simple as watching a movie can boost your mental health and mood? Taking the time to just be a child in a safe and supportive environment will positively impact in so many ways! We are also using this opportunity to speak to the children about mental health and bullying. Thank you again to @atouch_of_joy for sharing the passion to make a positive difference in the lives of children throughout our country ☺️
