Por eso, me gusta encontrar el humor en las cosas difíciles y poder procesar el dolor junto a otras personas que están atravesando lo mismo”, comparte la comediante, actriz y autora Aida Rodríguez, quien vuelca su corazón en temas universales como la raza, la maternidad o la pertenencia.
De un proceso de sanación semejante, nos invita a ser parte con ‘Hija legítima’, su libro de memorias, en el que retoma una vivencia infantil que la marcó por muchos años: “Una niña que creía mi amiga, me llamó ‘bastarda’ por no tener el apellido de mi padre. Fue muy doloroso”, confiesa esta #MujerImparable de raíces africanas.
Por eso, ahora, convencida de que la legitimidad “viene de adentro”, nos recuerda que nuestra voz auténtica no es algo que debamos salir a buscar. Por el contrario, como señala @funnyaida: “Debes sentarte calmadita y escuchar tu pensamiento. Se trata de no tener miedo a compartir tu voz. Eso vive en ti”.

I thank God for it all! What an amazing Super Bowl weekend it was, sharing my time with some of the best people on the planet.
Thank you to the bestie @eloramason who is a PR specialist and my personal Olivia Pope. I love you to no end. When @bryanmendez showed up in my life, right before my special came out, he decided to bless me throughout. When he puts his hands on me, he makes me feel special from the inside out.
I got to play on the biggest comedy stage of Super Bowl weekend for the Shaq All Star Comedy Jam, and in spite of my little mishap, I had an amazing time. I appreciate this fine ass doctor who stood backstage to make sure I was straight (Dr. Shipp).
Stepped into them NFL honors with @enunn06 and set it off. Broke bread with some amazing minds and spirits.
Got to see two of my favorites perform, my bro @fatjoe crush it & Shaheed and Aliyah’s kid @tpain (he’s a genius).
And I did it all feeling fabulous in my threads (this is for the pimp that was in the house) thanks to my fashion architect @styledbyfern ! Had me on that stage in that custom @grayscaleic 😱
Thank you @tgo1225 & @madamproducer for holding me down and lifting me up always.
Most of all, I am a comedian, and that’s what I went to Vegas for. Grateful that both times that I was on stage I was able to deliver my jokes, my way (@usher voice) and receive the laughter that pays it all off. Thank you audience, we are nothing without you.

Thank you to everyone who sent this to me, from my closest friends to some of you who I don’t know. It has truly been humbling to hear your connection to my book and to also know that because of it you feel seen. I appreciate the many of you saw that I bled on the page and decided not to kick me down, but to hold me up. Unfortunately, one of the misconceptions about the book is that it is funny. Many people who can’t process that a Comedian can write a serious book and continue to market it and promote it as such have caused quite a stir. People are giving me bad reviews because they expected to laugh when they read my story, they feel betrayed. I’m not just a comedian I am a writer and a human being. So thank you to the many of you who actually got it and didn’t deny me my full range of being. I just want to say thank you to @exclusivepalmbeachliving for this beautiful review, I so appreciate you. And yes, my Netflix special was definitely a highlight in my life, you guys remind me everyday! 😊
