5 min before this I was feeling pretty blah. It’s that time of the month…it was a busy week, tired, bloated, hormones were hijacking my brain and trying to drag me down… Thankfully I had the wherewithal to ask myself… “What do I need to feel nourished right now now?”. The answer “a bowl of chili and some stand-up comedy”. 🤷🏻♀️ But first I needed to make the chili. Dammit. It’s okay because I had a second question… “What would make cooking a juicier experience?” Listening to a podcast felt like work…but music…music felt good. I popped on some @emmymelimusic I AM WOMAN, which felt appropriate for the occasion, and to my sweet surprise, my entire mood shifted in a matter of seconds. This really shouldn’t surprise me since dance is always one of my favorite medicines, but sometimes when we’re in it, we can’t imagine feeling better that quickly. But my gawd did I ever feel better! And babes, this was the PG version of my kitchen dance party! Shit got spicy 🌶️😉 I share this simply to inspire self inquiry when in lower times… “What do I need right now?” “What would feel nourishing?” “How can I make this moment more juicy?” There’s so much power in pausing and going within ♥️ Anyone else a dancing chef?? Good gawd the last month has been jam packed with magic!! Looking back my heart bursts with appreciation 💖 Juicy, heart filled adventures with so SO many amazing friends new and old 🥰 I’ll post more later but for now I’m enjoying LIVING in the moment far too much to be on social media 😉 My word of the year which I’ve adopted from my new Spanish friends @panaderofernando and @alfredibz88 is… ESPECTACULAR!! Living a spectacular life is a choice. A choice to seek joy and most importantly, BE joy! It often involves me pushing on the edges of comfort and choosing to step, or sometimes dive into the unknown… Expecting magic. When we expect magic, we find it. Or rather it finds us 💫 I just finished a @drjoedispenza retreat with my babes @jaralin and @lolomccoco and my belief that I am the creator of my magical life, and that we are all connected through the love that we ARE, has been amplified even more 💖💫 Soaked in possibility and inspired to be the biggest LOVE I can possibly be, I know this year is going to be like no other 🙌✨ I hope you feel so empowered this year to live your best life!! My body is not a trend. I am NO longer willing to shrink myself, literally and metaphorically to try and fit into some kind of bullshit, oppressive idea of what is valuable and beautiful. We are here to shine. Fully! In ALL our love and messy, beautiful, fabulousness. Last November while looking in the mirror I caught myself judging my body hard and feeling so much shame. I woke up in that moment. It was sobering to realize that I was still so dependent on my body being a certain size to feel good about myself. I had fooled myself into thinking I had evolved past that. But when I took stock I realized my love for myself and my body was conditional (which is not love btw) and I still had deeply engrained disordered eating habits. These beliefs and habits are layered deep in my subconscious, fortified by the messages we are all fed and then continue to support. But they can be undone. Slowly but surely, I am moving towards freedom and wholeness. As always I share in hopes that you will feel less alone in your journey, and inspired to move towards love and freedom. A lot of my process has been sitting with myself and all the parts of me that are scared and want to buy into the cultural rhetoric that tells us to be thin. The parts of me that believe I won’t work if I’m not thin, I won’t be desired, I won’t be loved, I won’t belong. The amount of time and energy and money I’ve wasted in the name of thinness. The amount of love and joy I’ve missed out on. No more. I could go on and on and we will do a podcast episode about this, but as promised in the video, here are a couple resources that helped me. The book #antidiet by @chr1styharrison And the @rawbeautytalks RESET program with @erintreloar which was all about intuitive eating and body neutrality. I know I’m not alone in this. This is an epidemic that needs end. We’ve been brainwashed into thinking our bodies are currency for love and belonging. Wherever you are at in your journey is okay. You are love and you are loved. My mission in this lifetime is to let my light shine FULLY and inspire others to do the same! Shine baby shine! The world needs ALL of you!! All the love. Always. 💖
