Roller rinks hold a sacred significance to me because this acceptance is part of their essence. Here, we stand on equal ground. So when the rink rules appear biased, we take notice. Experiencing bullying for your beliefs here would be especially difficult. You’d feel like an outsider in a place that promised to celebrate diversity. Instead, it generates a sense of isolation directly challenging the fundamental principles of individuality and acceptance, and ultimately conflicting with the core tenants that roller rinks embody. 1.
