I enjoyed showing Richard Quest our building in Frankfurt and some of its main rooms like:
🔹 The Governing Council room, where every six weeks we meet to decide on monetary policy
🔹 The market room, the ECB’s eyes and ears in financial markets
🔹 The banknote anti-counterfeiting laboratory that allows us to improve our banknotes security features.
We also sat down to discuss the latest monetary policy decisions and my first four years as ECB President.
Discussions on monetary policy are underway at our main building in Frankfurt.
Â
Stay tuned for what the Governing Council decides and follow the live press conference with President @ChristineLagarde from 14:45 CET – more details via the 🔗 in our story!

A hotter climate and nature loss are forcing change in our economy and financial system.
We must understand and keep up with this change to continue to fulfil our price stability mandate.
With the ECB’s climate and nature plan, we are intensifying our efforts to help underpin stability and support the green transition of the economy and the financial system.
Looking back to some of my favourite moments from my interview earlier this week on Quest Means Business.
Thank you Richard Quest for the conversation!
A special thank you to all the ECB staff who contributed to explaining our work.

Some photos from today’s @europeancentralbank press conference.
We decided to keep our key interest rates unchanged.
Our past interest rate hikes are helping to push inflation down.
Future decisions will depend on how we see the economy and inflation developing.

🇪🇺🇺🇦It’s almost two years since Russia started its unjustified war against Ukraine.
To show our ongoing support for Ukraine and its people, we’re awarding 15 Ukrainian graduates a grant of €10,000 each.
The grant will help them pursue further studies in fields related to the ECB’s mandate and activities.
Earlier this week President @christinelagarde met the scholars and wished them every success in their studies!

Edith Erbrich and Eva Szepesi are two remarkable women who survived the Holocaust. We are among the last generations who get to spend time with these survivors and to hear their stories.
Ahead of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, they joined us for a ceremony in the Jewish Memorial at the ECB main building.
Nearly 10,000 members of Frankfurt’s Jewish population were deported from this site to concentration camps during the Second World War, with Edith Erbrich among them.
