Pregnancy ~ it’s special and we feel so lucky to have a healthy baby…. but it’s been the toughest period of my life mentally and physically. I felt so ashamed to not be enjoying pregnancy, but after I released an episode about my journey on my Pass Around the Smile podcast, I had so many women reach out to me saying they had felt the same. I heard from women who had prenatal depression, anxiety, hyperemesis and women who lost all sense of themselves and felt completely lonely. And mostly all of these women felt the need to ‘stay quiet’ or just ‘get on with it.’ Seeking professional help, having a vent to loved ones and having such an understanding and caring OB (@dradrianaolog) made all the difference for me. So if you’re struggling in your pregnancy, please don’t suffer in silence! Ask for help. Listen to my podcast ep if you haven’t already and know that it’s absolutely okay to not love being pregnant. It doesn’t mean you’re any less of a woman or a mother. 🧡 Thanks to Emma for capturing the love and joy we feel for this little love. But know that what you see on social media is usually just the highlights. I know so many women go through such huge struggles to fall pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy and baby. And I can’t imagine the pain that must bring. Whether you’re trying, pregnant, or post partum ~ you’re a super woman. You’re doing the best you can, and that is enough. 🧡 Other podcasts that helped me get through the first few months – @beyondthebump.podcast @australianbirthstories @nurturehubpodcast @claireholt also wrote some amazing blogs on The Corner by Claire. My podcast episode is called ‘I’m Pregnant, and I Didn’t Expect it to Be Like This’ you can find it on Apple or Spotify under @passaroundthesmile
