The image of God being a hiding place, a place of protection is so precious to me. I have come to this verse often when I have been afraid, during seasons when I have felt under attack, whether by someone’s words here on instagram, by an onslaught of fears or worries, by an intensely busy schedule that feels like it will drown me, or by the weight of this broken world and the sadness that can sometimes just come crashing down over my head.
This promise from Psalm 32:7 reminds me that I never have to face any of that alone, which is deeply comforting to me. I always have a shelter built of love, and the door is always open, and no matter how dark things get, there is light and hope and peace inside. Not only that…there is this image in this verse that reminds me of a mother. I love imagining God as a mother, holding a scared or sad or sick child to her chest, rocking and humming softly the songs that bring comfort to the most weary and trembling soul. Whatever you face today, I pray that you’ll be reminded that you are not alone. God is with you. God is holding you, protecting you, and humming songs of deliverance over you. What a precious and intimate peek into the heart of God to care so tenderly and so well for all of us.

“I know You love us, God, but surely You can’t—or won’t—come find me in this situation. I’ve run too far from You for You to reach me now.”
Have you ever had that thought? Have you ever naturally assumed that you’ve run so far away, God’s hand surely wouldn’t be willing to uphold you there? I have. And you and me, we aren’t the only ones. Remember Adam and Eve? They tried to run. Remember Jonah? He tried to run too. Remember Joseph in the Old Testament, in the pit? Surely he thought he had descended far too deep for God
to even remember him. Yet in all these cases and more, God found each person and met them exactly where they thought He couldn’t. When I’m stuck in those “wanting to run away” moments, I find such comfort in these verses. There is nowhere we can run, nowhere we can hide, that is out of the reach of God’s love for us.

Our hearts are broken. Our precious and brave cousin , Bailey, took her last breath and fought her last battle this week, and while she’s healed and whole and free of all the pain and cancer now, we’ll miss her every single day. Bailey was a legend . She loved big and laughed loud and made us all feel like we were on top of the world . She spoke life into me often , deeply encouraging me to keep singing , reminding me how she loved my songs and my voice and Drew’s too. She was 9 y’all, and she had a deep well of a heart .
She loved her family and friends most , and even as she faced a mighty battle with cancer , she carried herself with courage and humor and gratitude and love . I watched her incredible family and community carry her too, and I’ll never be the same. It was stunning how many people showed up to love this girl . It was stunning how her mom @ccrews33 and dad @bueller33 and sister carried her . They fought fierce and loved deep and wide until her very last moments on this earth.
Me and Drew got to see @stephen.wilson.jr play last Friday night , the night before Bailey passed, and I wept like a baby to this song . “Grief is only love that’s got no place to go. Grief is only love.” Man, we are grieving , and we will be until the day we get to wrap our arms around our warrior girl again, but my goodness , if grief is only love , then Bailey is the source of a titanic amount of love. We love you Bailey. You are a legend , and we long for the day when we’ll see you again.
The day we heard the news, we took a winter walk and found a “Bailey tree”, one that we could come and visit every year on the anniversary of her home-going or just on the days we really miss her. It didn’t take us long. We found one . The kids said, “There it is !!! It’s huge ! Just like Bailey’s heart.” Thankful for trees and tears and for the reminder that grief is only love today.
We didn’t know the day we met as college kids on the front porch steps of a friends’ house at a pre-football game bbq, that we would build a life together . I didn’t know that I needed a steady love like Drew’s to help me take down the fortress I’d built around my broken heart.
He’s loved me patient and true , and brick by brick, he’s helped me heal and come home to myself. We’re far from perfect and the road hasn’t always been easy…far from it …but my stars , his love has made me at home with myself, and with him as well, and I look back over 18 years , and we’ve built a family, a community, careers, memories , songs , festivals , and adventures together. Cheers to the brick by brick , patient love out there that may not make headlines, but slowly makes meaning and beauty in a life . Love you, babes . And I love the Home we’ve built together . ✨ Hope y’all enjoy this song I wrote for my guy. ✨
Thx for helping me write this @taylorleon , and thanks for recording it so beautifully @thomasdulin !

Happy Valentine’s Day! 💕 Our duo EP “Brick by Brick” is available now. We loved getting to record these three new songs together and are so excited to sing them live on the road with you all the rest of this month. Here is an acoustic clip of one of the new songs, “We Can Go Dancing”. Share them with someone you love today!
How amazing does this sound? “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.“ How often do you do this? Is it hard to get quiet for you? I feel like with my phone ringing and buzzing and alerting me every time a friend posts a picture, the coat I was looking at goes on sale, or the latest tragedy strikes via my news feed, it’s hard to get quiet. My watch that’s on my wrist will even buzz at me if I’m still for too long telling me to MOVE. I think movement and work is good. I truly do, but those come to me naturally. For me, it takes work and intention to REST. Sounds crazy, but I am learning to turn my phone off, to be still, to meditate on beauty and truth, and it takes a herculean effort to get there some days. But guess what? I have not one regret about taking time to rest and to be quiet in the presence of the One who loves me most and knows me best.

Psalm 23:1-3. One of my favorite Psalms. One of my favorite images. Lord, help me remember I have a guide and a friend in You. Help me follow you to those quiet water/green pasture places to find rest, even when there is chaos all around me. Thank you for the promise that Your love will always refresh my soul.

This first week on the Feels Like Home tour was magical. Three of the first four shows were Sold Out and the all four the audiences were incredibly special. Shout out to all the people who flew across the country or drove from other states, people celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and the parents who brought their kids to their first concert. It means the world to us.
Here we are performing our new song “Brick By Brick” in the seats of the Carolina Theatre in Durham. We love you all. Thanks for listening to these 3 new songs too. Grateful.
Helping my forgetful heart remember that no matter what burdens I am carrying for myself, or for others around me, I can always find deep rest in the One who tells me to come as I am….weary, heavy laden. Inviting you to sing alongside me this week and echo the sweet invitation to rest in the strong arms of the One who made us and knows us best.

This verse is so well known and such a beautiful promise. I have found great comfort in these words over the years, but in seasons when my heart was aching, it felt harder to believe. It felt hard to read “I shall not be in want” when my soul felt left in the dust, longing for so much, for a different outcome to the story I was walking through. Have you ever felt that way when reading promises like this in Scripture? It can be so confusing.
Sometimes seasons of “being in want” descend upon your normal from out of nowhere, and sometimes the “valley” seems like it is just where you will always live, but I can honestly say that I have known God’s comfort and restoration even in those kinds of seasons. I have found that even in the valley, when God is shepherding us, our soul really does have what it needs. We are not in a state of “want” when it comes to His nearness and tenderness . . . even if our current view of the world looks dim and dark.

Happy new year , y’all! Here is my question for you: Do you have a word for the year?!?!?! If so, what is it?! Or do you have a Bible verse for the year that you’re holding onto?!? If so, what is it? Comment below !!
I have not traditionally done this until the past three years, but for 3 yrs in a row, it feels like a word has just found me. It usually marks something that I want to be intentional about in the new year. My friend and I were talking the other day, and her word is “trust”, and she got on my page to see if I had any memory Monday verses that I’ve sung about trusting God! It got me to thinking, and I wonder if you could tell me what your word is, and then I could either send out some songs with Bible verses, with your word in it, or write you some of I haven’t already got one !
My word this year is stillness. Stillness is very hard for me as somebody who likes to move a lot, likes to talk a lot, likes to travel, likes adventure, etc…. But it is usually in the getting quiet and being still but I am best able to hear the tender quiet voice of God so my verse this year is Psalm 46:10 “ be still and know that I am God.”
So comment below, and I will try to start sending out memory Monday songs that include your word or Bible verse for the year! Someone if you want to know what their word or Bible verse or interior might be for the new year. Cheers to new beginnings, and to setting intentions that hold the good things we hope to give our minds and hearts and energy to.
Only 2 weeks until the start of our Feels Like Home tour! Tickets are running low all across the board (especially VIP) so be able to get your tickets now while you still can. We can’t wait to see you!

Taking our kids on the road adds a whole new layer of chaos to touring but there’s nothing like having your people with you. Thanks to our incredible team who make it make sense. And thanks to Durham for a great show. Round two in Durham tonight!!!
Been double taking this Valentine of mine since I was 19. Even backstage at the Peace Center last night.
When your state of the union (yearly vision and re-visioning marriage trip) in Miami gets cut short by SNOW STORMS in Nashville! I love to be with you everywhere @drewholcombmusic , on the beach and on the “slopes” (aka …the hills of our public neighborhood golf course )! What a special day with our family and some neighborhood friends . Hope y’all stay warm and safe !
My favorite thing about these shows is the stories we hear, whether through DMs on instagram, or at the VIP pre-show, or when we turn on the lights in the show and ask questions of the audiences. A dad brought his two small kids from Canada last night. About a dozen kids a night its their first concert. Other stories about our music being a soundtrack to a really tough season, or a major life moment. Ellie and I are honored, and this tour really does feel like home. And our fantastic crew on this tour has been doing a great job. Next year we might have to blow this tour wide open….
Our first night of the Feels Like Home Tour is in the books, and I can’t really describe how special it is to be on the road with people you love, your family, and getting to play songs to rooms full of people who have let their songs into their lives. It’s so special. So humbling . I’m so grateful. We’ve got a great set , a great crew , and we’re ready to hang with y’all! Greenville was an amazing first night , & we’ll see you tonight and tomorrow Durham!
@drewholcombmusic , I love making music with you…it’s been our valentines tradition for many years now . I like the idea of using valentines as a season to intentionally spend time with people you love, so come on out and spend a really special evening with us . We can’t wait to see you!
Thx for capturing all the moments @kt.sura !!
Two nights in Durham, NC in the books and feeling GOOOD!! See y’all tonight , Charleston! Love bring out with @drewholcombmusic and our fam and crew!!! Loads of LOVE! Thx for pics @kt.sura ! Families living in poverty may see placing their children in an orphanage as the only way to meet their basic needs. In fact, 4 out of 5 children living in orphanages have a living parent and almost all have extended family members who could care for them if supported to do so.
Strengthening families is the best way to care for vulnerable children and prevent them from being placed in orphanages. So join me in the effort to change the way we care for orphans and other vulnerable children by supporting local families.
